My goal is to highlight important environmental issues by combining Product Design and Emotional Design methods, with sneakers' popularity enhancing the message of environmental awareness and sustainability. In today's world, we're tackling numerous challenges, notably the pandemic's impact. But amidst these, are we missing something less discussed? Whales ending up stranded on beaches stem from various reasons, like natural events such as death or ocean currents pushing them ashore, and health issues like sickness, injury, disorientation, or hunger. However, human actions also play a big role. Overfishing, Ship Strikes, and Pollution are the main human-induced causes. Overfishing disrupts marine life, pushing predators closer to coastal areas. Pollution, including plastic, chemicals, oil spills, and noise, harms marine ecosystems. Recent and past instances of whale strandings highlight the urgency of addressing this issue, often overlooked. As a designer, I chose Sneaker design as my canvas for raising awareness on LinkedIn. As an artist and environmentalist, I am passionate about using non-recyclable trash as my medium. I want to share a video of me working on my latest masterpiece — a sand dollar made entirely from garbage. Using items like socks, color capture sheets, Emergen C packets, tea bag wrappers, wire, twine, and other non-recyclable trash, I am creating a beautiful piece of art conveying a crucial message about the importance of sustainable living and caring for the oceans. One of the great things about this project is its affordability. I am making something special with less than $10 of staples and nails. It shows that great art doesn't have to be expensive. Suppose you are an artist on a budget. In that case, I encourage you to get creative with your materials.
