Last week, OLLY Canada hosted a powerful panel event at Casa Madera in the 1 Hotel in Downtown Toronto, which we transformed into an enchanting OLLY Secret Garden. The event provided a vital platform to address women’s health issues that have been too long hidden and underfunded. Some of our favorite highlights from the event are below! 💖 Martine St-Victor led a dynamic discussion with OLLY CEO Hanneke Willenborg, Canadian Gold medal Olympian Sarah Nurse, Monday Girl Co-Founder Rachel Wong, and Women College Hospital’s Dr. Iliana Lega. 🧡 OLLY Canada is supporting the Women’s College Hospital Foundation with a $25,000 donation to advance crucial research and promote health equity. 💙 Panelists engaged the audience in important discussions on women's health, sharing personal experiences and practical solutions to open dialogue on a topic often considered taboo - which is a passion of OLLY’s!

CEO Grow Midwives, LLC; March for Moms, Founding President/Board Member; Past President ACNM; Editor Top Selling Book, 2nd Ed., Nobody Told Me About That: Surviving and Thriving Through the Early Weeks of Parenting
#MarchforMoms program in June, in Philly will continue to emphasize how community based partners are poised with HOW to improve outcomes for childbearing families without decades of policy debate and state/federal funding. In our third year of lifting up CBOs, these organizations are the heart of the community, providing critical work on slim margins and small staff. These organizations have the trust of the community. These organizations bring cultural congruency to facilitate health of families that often struggle with health literacy and trust with instutionalized care. These organizations have much to share about their work, their needs, and how YOU can help. I challenge every healthcare provider that has not heard the stories of community-based work to set biases aside and listen. You will be moved to understand the URGENCY to integrate a variety of CBO care models into the most broken healthcare system of all industrialized nations. #MarchforMoms #ExpandYourTeam #CommunityBasedHealthCare

An amazing event supporting The SUDC Foundation. Register for Huddy’s Hike on the link below. The SUDC Foundation is the only organization worldwide whose purpose is to raise awareness, fund research, and serve those affected by sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC). The SUDC Foundation provides all services at no cost to the people it serves. SUDC is a category of death in children between the ages of 1 and 18 that remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy. At this time, we do not know what causes SUDC, how to predict it, or how to prevent it. https://lnkd.in/gphA-Y3G

It is no secret the business of health care is experiencing one of its most tumultuous times in history. There is no shortage of reports on the challenging financial health care marketplace. This creates complexities for the C-Suite, challenging them to successfully operate and navigate through the tumult while also staying true to their organizations’ missions, values and visions. In times of uncertainty and financial challenges, campaigns are a crucial lifeline for organizations seeking to sustain their missions and serve their communities’ health needs. These times also create challenges in building and launching large-scale philanthropy efforts. Accordant’s Wave Campaign™ model was developed during less turbulent times; yet, has the adaptability, innovation and momentum generation needed to navigate stormy weather. This model is case-driven, clinician-partnered, organization-aligned and passion-fueled to meet and exceed donor needs. Wave campaigning is structured to ensure sustained philanthropy. Learn more about how to harness the power of the Wave Campaign™ model from Accordant's John Donovan and Heather Wiley Starankovic, CFRE, CAP: https://ow.ly/ka9f50Qnvei #healthcare #philanthropy #wavecampaigning #WaveCampaign™

Clinicians aren’t just healers; they are also experts in patient care. Involving them in philanthropic decision-making allows health care organizations to leverage their firsthand experience and knowledge, ensuring funds are directed to areas with the greatest potential to improve health outcomes. When clinicians actively participate in philanthropy, their personal touch helps organizations build deeper, more meaningful relationships, fostering greater donor loyalty and more generous contributions. Their involvement adds a genuine sense of trust and authenticity to the foundation’s mission, enhancing its credibility and appeal. However, clinician involvement is not always easy. Even in the best of times, the overarching overlay of burnout makes engagement difficult. Check out this week's eNews for a piece from Accordant's Susan Attwell, CFRE, on how to cultivate mutually fulfilling clinician-philanthropy partnerships and effectively address clinician burnout simultaneously: https://ow.ly/PQwn50SE6Ep #healthcare #philanthropy #clinicianpartnership

Gratitude has one of the strongest associations with better mental health and well-being of any personality trait, more than hope, optimism, or compassion- Robert Emmons, Scientific Advisor to Accordant. A current headline, "Reducing burnout has hit a wall." Message me to learn more about our journey to well-being informed by research and evidence-based practices in gratitude, neuroscience and strength-based psychology.
A successful grateful engagement strategy elevates gratitude within health care organizations and enables a streamlined and robust approach to generating continuous pools of new prospective donors. Therefore, grateful engagement should be embraced by every member of the organization’s development team and should be a top priority for the organization’s daily work. Accordant's ethos is a grateful engagement strategy that integrates physicians, clinicians, patients and families into a values-based circle that uplifts organizational culture, clinician well-being, patient experience, philanthropic support and more.
