📈Prices of Ukrainian #barley remain heated despite harvesting coming to its end – ASAP Agri Ukrainian farmers are reserved sellers preferring to keep grain in stocks. That keeps the prices of Ukrainian barley at high level despite the fact that the harvesting campaign is already 93% done. As of last Friday, 02 Aug, buying ideas on CPT POC reached 173 USD/MT. It is 14 USD/MT higher compared to the beginning of Jul, and 8 USD/MT higher vs early June.  Strong CPT market is keeping FOB prices high. As of 02 Aug, the offer prices of Ukrainian barley were declared at 195 USD/MT FOB POC, up 17 USD/MT m/m. “In the second part of July, when fields data showed decrease of yield, namely in the biggest region producer of barley in Ukraine – Odesa region, plus, CPT demand in deep sea ports jumped – sellers raised their offer ideas to about 195 USD/MT for handy and panamax size batches”, – stated Daria Marchenko, Broker at Atria Brokers. 🏞️ Champion of the Environment Video Campaign 📺 #Animals play a vital role in maintaining balance on #Earth, yet we ignore their importance. It is crucial to raise #awareness and educate the unaware about the consequences of our #actions on these gentle beasts. I have recently participated in the annual Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) competition, where I chose the declining population of the #Malayan #Tapir as my main subject matter. 🦏 With only 2,000 left in the wild globally, roadkill and habitat loss are the major killers of this animal. Therefore, I carefully crafted and #edited a video that highlighted its threats and how we can unite, as conservationists, to save the Tapir from extinction. Due to my message and powerful explanation, I managed to win #First #Prize on the #national Malaysian stage, for the age category 14-17! 🏆 I hope my project is selected for the #global stage, as it would align with the goal of raising #awareness and conserving the Malayan Tapir. 😁 Excited to share some key findings and lessons learnt from the discussions of the “Sustainable Resilient Ecosystem and Agriculture Management in Mongolia (STREAM)” project on 4th April 2024 in Mongolia! 🌲 💡 Awareness-raising and training: One of the fundamental pillars of success in the STREAM project has been the focus on awareness-raising and training programs. By capacitating stakeholders about sustainable practices, the project fostered a culture of responsibility towards sustainable forest management (SFM). 💡 Revised Forest legislation and related policies: Through rigorous advocacy efforts, the STREAM project contributed to the reform of the forest legislation and related policies in Mongolia. These changes are expected to create a more conducive regulatory environment for SFM practices. 💡 Livestock exclusion from regenerating forests: A critical lesson learned from STREAM was the importance of keeping livestock out of regenerating forests. This practice protects the delicate ecosystem and allows forests to thrive without undue pressure from grazing animals. 💡 Improved economy through support for forest entities: The STREAM project demonstrated that supporting forest entities can lead to an improved economy. By investing in SFM practices, these entities were able to generate revenue while preserving natural resources. 💡 Partnership for inclusive decision-making: Collaboration was at the heart of the STREAM project’s success. By including representatives from local communities, private companies, organizations, and government entities at all levels, the project ensured that decisions were made with a holistic perspective considering diverse interests.
