🌟 A Message from Kimberly Warnock, NP-C 🌟 "So when I was younger, I think I didn't realize that everybody is going through something. When you grow up in a great home environment, you just expect to go to school and start your career, and everything just kind of keeps moving as it should. But then there was a day that I realized everyone is dealing with something. This realization came with my son's diagnosis, the biggest impactful thing that's happened to my family. Being aware of this as a clinician helps us treat patients better. Nobody has that 'social media perfect' life; most people are dealing with some sort of battle, whether it's physical, mental, or emotional. As a practice, we aim to be a sounding board for these concerns and support our patients through their challenges. As a provider, I want to validate that whatever you're going through is serious and important." At Lake Country Medical Concierge, we understand that everyone has their own battles. We're here to support you, listen to you, and provide the compassionate care you deserve. #RealLifeStories #CompassionateCare #SupportiveHealthcare #LakeCountryMedicalConcierge

I have been hesitant to use social media as a platform for advocacy. Sharing personal stories and experiences can feel intimidating, especially on a professional social media platform. But today, on the 2 year anniversary of my personal experience, I am putting those feelings aside to advocate for a cause I am very passionate about: increasing survival rates for out of hospital cardiac arrest. On the evening of 9/5/22, I was sitting on the couch with my husband who was reading Harry Potter to our two young boys when the unthinkable happened: My husband suffered sudden cardiac arrest with zero warning signs. As a pharmacist, I was trained in CPR, but I never imagined having to use it, especially at home. It was a terrifying experience, but knowing how to act in those moments made a positive difference in his outcome. Survival rates for out of hospital cardiac arrest are shockingly low at only 10%, largely due to the critical moments lost before emergency medical help arrives. But what if we had the power to change that statistic? Early intervention with bystander CPR can double, even triple, a person's chance of survival. **Call to Action:** Please join me in normalizing CPR and being prepared for the unexpected. Take a CPR class, refresh your knowledge, invite a friend or coworker to learn CPR, or simply share this post to raise awareness. Whether it is online or in person, there are countless resources available to learn this life-saving skill. Like myself, you might not think it will happen to someone you love--but it is better to be prepared, just in case. #BystanderCPR #CPRSavesLives #HeartHealth #LearnCPR #SaveALife #AED #CallPushShock #BLS American Heart Association American Red Cross HandsOnly CPR Starting Hearts Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation

This core component of Cardiac rehab impacts every part of the patients journey. It’s the part that without first establishing, nothing else can move forward. Medication compliance, lifestyle risk factor management, health behavioural changes, long term strategies it’s all has to start with an understanding of the patients psychosocial health and perspective. In the NHS we are given such a small window of opportunity to assess people and teach them to make informed decisions but if their mental health is not paramount and they are returning to social deprivation how can we expect people to succeed? The BACPR is doing an incredible job of highlighting the impact of mental health on successful CVD risk reduction but we need our commissioners and managers to understand the essential need for psychological input in Cardiac rehab for our services to be successful.
Psychological support is a vital part of recovery after a cardiac event. This is offered by #cardiacrehab team along with onward referral to specialist services if needed. #CRWeek2024 #hearthealth

It is very important to have a voice and to be heard, especially when it comes to medical appointments at the Doctors or the Hospital. When I get appointments, as I have Neurodiversity, I always ask for reasonable adjustments, such as having extra time, which can be a double appointment, a preference for the first thing in the morning or the last appointment before closing, and not using too much medical jargon to make things a bit easier for me rather than leaving being overwhelmed. With dyspraxia, if someone tells me things all at once, I can't take them all together; it needs to be slow so that I understand. #disabilityhistorymonth #reasonableadjustments #medicalappointments #neurodiversity #dyspraxia

Founder, CEO at Better Physician Life Coaching | Trauma-Informed Professional Coach, Professional Certified Coach
The impact of friendship and community cannot be overstated. Community is fundamental. It is the key to negotiating perilous times through support and shared experiences. With a strong community, anything is possible. When doubts arise, as they inevitably do, a community can provide an invaluable sounding board of encouragement and reality checks. And when our own internal beliefs aren’t up to the task, we can borrow the beliefs we have in each other to keep us moving forward. And let’s be honest, having a group of people you can relate to and who get what you’re going through is just nice. Physicians are entrenched in community throughout our training, but the camaraderie all but disappears as we reach attendinghood. Community may just be one of the most significant missing pieces for physicians in modern-day medicine that drives physician burnout, overwhelm, and overall discontent. Who is your community? Does something prevent you from finding or creating the community you need? How might having a community change your life and career?
