In college, we used to participate in a long-distance relay race. Each team consisted of four players. One would start the run and, after covering a certain distance, hand over the baton to the next player. The team that finished first would win the match. In life, I often find a resemblance between this game and some of my personal realizations. Families, generation after generation, run like a team where one member hands over the overall progress and reputation to the young bloods. If one generation becomes careless, they not only ruin themselves but also the overall accomplishments, hard work, and sacrifices of a group of people. That’s why it’s our duty to understand the common goals of our ancestors, value their sacrifices, and continue the legacy if it’s for a greater cause. By growing ourselves in numerous ways, we can develop a mindset that can differentiate right and wrong. We can see whether we need to bring any corrections or add anything where a former member failed to focus on. Overall, the result should be positive. We should feel proud at the end of the race and be satisfied that we tried our level best and did what we had to do. Great video! Self development and keep learning for your own good and not to impress others. Improve ourselves is to move out of comfort zone. If we don't change or learn new things, we might be left behind and could be hard to catch up. Nothing is easy and free in this world. Since 2017, our team at Easy Mile Fitness has prioritized Monthly Offsites for our +40 General Managers. With 90 meetings under our belt, these sessions may look a little bit different than the old days, but remain an important space for discussing the business, sharing best practices, and fostering team camaraderie. 📈💡🤝 While each of our Planet Fitness locations is unique, these Offsites allow the team to collaborate on how to address common challenges across the organization. By working together, we can brainstorm innovative ideas to enhance the experience for our ~300,000 members and the 50,000 daily visitors to our facilities. Despite our organization's growth and changes, the commitment to these team gatherings has never wavered. While no longer run by Philip Amato and myself, under the much more effective leadership of Mandi Castagnola and Keishla Tejedor Rodriguez these Offsites have only become a more important part of our business.
