Fiber is great, but it's not the gold standard - it's just another tool in the toolbox. For the rural communities that have no access today, #FWA is getting there faster, better, and cheaper - and bringing #digitalopportunities to places that would have been utterly left behind by technologies that can't make their ROI. #broadbandforall #broadbandforgood
"Fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband emerges as a viable alternative, offering faster and more reliable internet than satellite, with simpler and more cost-effective deployment compared to fiber optics." Great coverage of the LINXC Bridge from Mobile World Live at the link below which describes the problem that the LINXC Bridge solves: Fixed Wireless Broadband signals struggle to penetrate walls and windows. Just how much may surprise you... One of our field tests showed that moving a carrier-grade FWA modem from just inside a low energy window to just outside of the window using a LINXC Bridge doubled the downlink data rate to 800 Mbps from 400 Mbps. The uplink data more than tripled from 20 Mbps to over 70 Mbps.
After a great user trial this weekend which you can see here: https://lnkd.in/ezvjY5EE We think you’ll benefit from reading the latest feature from Mobile World Live more about the challenge of getting great connectivity indoors. https://lnkd.in/e6T5m264 LiFi bridges the gap to bring high-speed 5G/4G/satellite broadband from outdoors to in with the LINXC Bridge™ system. Network operators worldwide are looking to 5G and other bearers to deliver high-speed broadband internet connections more quickly and more cost-effectively than fibre. But 5G signals—especially mmWave 5G—struggle to penetrate walls. LINXC Brdige™ LiFi Bridge uses LiFi to bridge signals to the indoor LAN through a window using light #LiFi #FWA #5G #NewTech #UKTech

Finally getting #4G and #5G into buildings at good quality … should be good news for operators, and should be even more relevant when the mmWave agenda is revisited.

LiFi (Light Fidelity) is a wireless communication technology that uses light to transmit data between devices. It uses the visible light spectrum, ultraviolet (UV), and infrared (IR) radiation to transmit data, making it a potential replacement for traditional radio-frequency (RF) based wireless communication technologies like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. LiFi technology uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to transmit data, which is then received by photodetectors or solar panels. The data is modulated onto the light signal, allowing it to be transmitted wirelessly. LiFi offers several advantages, including: - Higher speeds (up to 100 Gbps) - Greater security (due to light's limited range) - Lower latency - Energy efficiency - Interference-free operation LiFi has various applications, such as: - Indoor networking - IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity - Smart cities - Underwater communication - Space exploration However, LiFi also has limitations, like requiring line-of-sight between devices and being affected by light interference. Overall, LiFi is an innovative technology with vast potential for wireless communication, especially in areas where RF signals are weak or unreliable. Li-Fi – or light fidelity – #technology allows communication using light in locations where #RF is not permitted. Industry expert Murray Slovick dives into this topic in his latest TTI, Inc. MarketEYE article and explains how this is can offload congestion from Wi-Fi. https://bit.ly/3UFx4An #TTIinc #communications #electroniccomponents
