Nice cover story in BroadcastPro Middle East this month, about how ASBU have leveraged the #AWS Cloud to re-invent their exchange platform. Congratulations to all AWS Partners who have participated, first Broadcast Solutions Middle East, as the lead managed service provider, as well as all the other contributors (Dalet, Newsbridge, Signiant, TVU Networks). There are a couple interesting nuggets in the article: “Providing the usage pattern remains within predefined limits, costs for ASBU are predictable. 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐓𝐓 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈 Industry associations, IBDF and IAMAI have teamed up once again urging to keep OTT players outside the regulatory ambit of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. They have written to the regulator arguing that there is no need to bring OTT channels under the regulatory ambit of a broadcasting system and thus be under TRAI’s regulation. These comments came as submissions to the consultation process for National Broadcasting Policy that TRAI is currently in the process of drafting.
