My June news update to MPR members focuses on our launch of Reverb, an initiative to make news more approachable for 20- to 30-year-olds through multiplatform coverage. The Reverb team includes Feven Gerezgiher, Nicole Ki, Anne Guttridge, Samantha Stroozas, and Kaila White. They're producing content that we broadcast on MPR News on the radio and stream online as well as share on social media channels such as Instagram and TikTok, OnDemand content such as podcasts, live events across the state, and more. Did you know millennials surpassed Baby Boomers in 2020 as the U.S.’s largest population and Gen Z makes up 20 percent of the population? 🎙: After 3 years of working together, Paola Flores-Marquez and I FINALLY recorded an EMARKETER #podcast episode to talk about US #Hispanics. During our chat, we discussed which digital behaviors Hispanic Americans over-index on, how they get their news, and what advertisers should consider when trying to reach and market to them. 💡Fun fact: Hispanic digital media usage rivals or exceeds that of the total population on most media platforms, especially Instagram and WhatsApp. Their strong online presence and enthusiasm for sharing product recommendations with friends make them both a target and an ally for advertisers. But like any large demographic cohort, advertisers need to be specific about which Hispanic group they're targeting.
