This week, the Research Team celebrated Clinical Trial Day. It is celebrated on May 20th each year, commemorating the day James Lind began what is often considered the first controlled clinical trial in 1747 and honors the dedication of researchers, healthcare professionals and patient volunteers who make advances possible. On behalf of Oncology Consultants, I want to thank our Research Department Team for its ongoing support and participation in clinical research. You continue to make strides in understanding, treating, improving patient outcomes, and enhancing the quality of life for all. Your tireless dedication drives medical science's progress and ensures that new treatments are safe, effective, and accessible. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to clinical research. Your efforts enhance the well-being of our communities. Happy Clinical Trial Day! 🧬🧫🔬🧪 Thank you, Rosa Fletcher

Dear Friends of the Peer Medical Foundation, Happy Clinical Trials Day!!! Today, May 20 sheds light on the importance of clinical trial participation to advance research and treatment to improve patients lives. As stated by the FDA: “Clinical trials are the safest way to find new treatments and ways to improve health. Some people participate in clinical trials because none of the current treatment options have worked, or they can’t tolerate certain side effects of existing treatments. Others participate in trials because they want to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge. Regardless of their reasoning, it is critical that participants are protected through a robust informed consent process.” We can all work together to promote equity in clinical trials and research, join us at the Peer Medical Foundation, now! #PeerMedicalFoundation #ClinicalTrials #PeerMedDiversity #ClinicalTrialsDay #HealthEquity #ClinicalResearch #Oncology #CancerResearch

Medical specialty societies play a vital role in advocating for physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for the patients we serve. Societies such as American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Society of Surgical Oncology serve as powerful advocates, representing the interests of oncology specialties on critical issues such as healthcare policy, reimbursement, and practice standards. Through membership, physicians gain access to valuable resources, educational opportunities, and networking events that enhance professional development and enable them to stay abreast of the latest advancements. Beyond membership, active participation in committees and leadership positions within these societies allows physicians to contribute their expertise, shape the future of their specialty, and drive positive change within the healthcare landscape. I encourage physicians to value membership in your respective specialty society, engage in committee work, and aspire to leadership roles, as together, we can continue to elevate the standard of care and advocate effectively for our patients. #MedicalSpecialtySocieties #PhysicianAdvocacy #QualityCare #ProfessionalDevelopment

Happy Clinical Trials Day! ⚕️ Today is a global celebration for the role clinical trials play in medical discovery and to honor the many people who work to improve outcomes through clinical trials studies. Clinical trials are research studies that help medical professionals improve the detection and treatment of illnesses. Our clinical trials program enrolls client-owned pets to evaluate the effectiveness of new drugs, find novel uses of old drugs, or investigate new approaches to surgery and/or radiation therapy to treat cancer. Many of the standard treatments used today are the result of clinical trials. We learn valuable information from every patient, and we use this information to improve their care as well as the care of future patients, both pets and people. The FACC Clinical Trials team includes (pictured from left to right): ⚕️ Becca Hill – Trials Coordinator ⚕️ Dr. Megan Gutwillig, Clinical Trials Intern ⚕️ Dr. Kristen Weishaar, Clinical Trials Director ⚕️ Kris Ibis, Clinical Trials RVT Clinical trials are an important way that we learn more about cancer and develop more effective ways to treat it. We might be biased but our Clinical Trials team is the BEST! #ClinicalTrialsDay #NationalCancerResearch Month

Today we are celebrating the completion of enrollment in the RESET Clinical Trial, an important RCT of SPRINT PNS for chronic low back pain. A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to advancing medical research. “We are thrilled to announce the completion of enrollment in this important study, which is the largest randomized controlled trial to date studying the SPRINT PNS System. This trial is designed to provide additional robust safety and efficacy data on the use of minimally-invasive, percutaneous PNS targeting the lumbar medial branch nerves for chronic back pain, building upon the large body of evidence that already exists supporting the use of SPRINT PNS for a variety of chronic and acute pain conditions,” said Josh Boggs, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of SPR Therapeutics. “Our team would like to express our sincere gratitude to the study investigators, their dedicated research staff, and the patients who are participating in this study. We look forward to sharing the results with the interventional pain management community,” added Boggs. https://lnkd.in/gKx-sRDE Denise Lester, MD, FASAM, Michael DePalma, Zachary McCormick, MD, Christopher Gilmore, MD, Mehul J Desai, Sean Li, MD, FIPP, Jessica Jameson MD, FASA, Tristan Weaver, M.D., Scott Davidoff, Thomas Hopkins, Nandan Lad, Mitch Engle, Thomas Lee, Drew Trainor, Francesco Vetri, Tim Deer, MD, Kasra Amirdelfan, Elizabeth Feenstra, MD, Erika Petersen, Lauren Easley, Meredith McGee, Ph.D., Josh Boggs, Rosemary Zang, Billy Clark, Diamond H., Aaron Thornton, Sara Anderson (Weigel) #ClinicalTrial #MedicalResearch
