Medical specialty societies play a vital role in advocating for physicians and ensuring the highest quality of care for the patients we serve. Societies such as American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Society of Surgical Oncology serve as powerful advocates, representing the interests of oncology specialties on critical issues such as healthcare policy, reimbursement, and practice standards. Through membership, physicians gain access to valuable resources, educational opportunities, and networking events that enhance professional development and enable them to stay abreast of the latest advancements. Beyond membership, active participation in committees and leadership positions within these societies allows physicians to contribute their expertise, shape the future of their specialty, and drive positive change within the healthcare landscape. Happy Clinical Trials Day! ⚕️ Today is a global celebration for the role clinical trials play in medical discovery and to honor the many people who work to improve outcomes through clinical trials studies. Clinical trials are research studies that help medical professionals improve the detection and treatment of illnesses. Our clinical trials program enrolls client-owned pets to evaluate the effectiveness of new drugs, find novel uses of old drugs, or investigate new approaches to surgery and/or radiation therapy to treat cancer. Many of the standard treatments used today are the result of clinical trials. We learn valuable information from every patient, and we use this information to improve their care as well as the care of future patients, both pets and people. Today we are celebrating the completion of enrollment in the RESET Clinical Trial, an important RCT of SPRINT PNS for chronic low back pain. A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to advancing medical research. “We are thrilled to announce the completion of enrollment in this important study, which is the largest randomized controlled trial to date studying the SPRINT PNS System. This trial is designed to provide additional robust safety and efficacy data on the use of minimally-invasive, percutaneous PNS targeting the lumbar medial branch nerves for chronic back pain, building upon the large body of evidence that already exists supporting the use of SPRINT PNS for a variety of chronic and acute pain conditions,” said Josh Boggs, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of SPR Therapeutics. “Our team would like to express our sincere gratitude to the study investigators, their dedicated research staff, and the patients who are participating in this study.
