The journey of survivorship can bring anxiety, a natural response to the fear of recurrence or concerns about the future. While anxiety is common, it’s important to recognize its signs—like excessive worry, restlessness, or physical symptoms—and take proactive steps to manage it. Tips for Coping: Educate Yourself: Understanding anxiety helps in managing it. Talk About It: Discussing your feelings with a trusted person or therapist can be therapeutic. Practice Relaxation: Techniques like deep breathing and stretching can ease tension. Stay Active: Physical activity can boost your mood. Seek Support: Professional help, such as that offered by OncoveryCare, can make a significant difference. Anxiety is a normal part of the survivorship experience, but you don't have to face it alone. Taking small steps can lead to a healthier, happier life post-cancer. 🌟 Attention all! Let's talk about something that might be impacting your spinal health in more ways than you realize: the Three T's, with "Thots" being one of them! 🚫💭 As a chiropractor, I see firsthand how our modern lifestyles can lead to spinal misalignments or subluxations. The Three T's — Thots, Traumas, and Toxins — play a significant role in this. Now, let's dive into Thots. No, not those kinds of thots! I'm talking about the constant stream of mental stress and negativity that can wreak havoc on our bodies. Stress from work, relationships, finances, or just the daily grind can lead to tension in the muscles, which can then pull on the spine and cause misalignments. It's crucial to manage stress effectively to maintain our mental health as well as our spinal health. Whether it's through mindfulness practices, exercise, or seeking professional help, finding ways to reduce mental and emotional stress can make a big difference in preventing subluxations. Remember, your mental well-being is just as important as your physical health! Take care of both, and your spine will thank you. 💆♂️💆♀️ #SpineHealth #MindBodyConnection #ChiropracticCare

Growth strategies for Behavioral Health & Addiction I Nervous System Practitioner & Somatic Healer Extraordinaire 🧠✨ Helping Stressed-Out Staff Find Inner Peace and Balance
7 signs your body is releasing stored trauma/emotions 🪧 When you experience trauma, your body's stress response gets activated, releasing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline into the bloodstream. This creates physical sensations of stress throughout the body like muscle tension, a rapid heartbeat, and changes in breathing. When the physical sensations become intertwined with the emotional aspects of your trauma, your body creates a somatic memory. Here are the 7 signs 🪧 your body is releasing that somatic memory: 1. You recognize and acknowledge your emotions and feelings. 2. You feel less stress and more at ease. 3. Your muscles unclench 4. You're more present. 5. You wake up feeling rested and refreshed. 6. You're more patient and less irritable. 7. You feel like you're living rather than just existing. Kind people live longer 🤗 When we see a young child (that's usually not ours), many of us default to a state of warmth, kindness and positivity... We tend to smile and give a complement and provide positive reinforcement: 'I like your outfit' 'that's right! Well done!' Yet, when we engage with our peers it tends to be the opposite! Aggression, agitation, frustration, impatience, criticism. According to Carl Jung and other psychotherapists, there's an inner child within us all with unhealed memories and emotions. Our interactions with the world are heavily influenced by the state of our inner child i.e. the way we talk and respond to others. The way we talk to others can still heavily impact that inner child. Research has shown, people who are perceived as kind to others and most importantly kind to themselves, tend to live longer. It is believed the mental state of kindness: ✅ Reduces stress levels. ✅ Improves immunity. ✅Improves cardiovascular health ✅ Improves longevity So the next time you interact with others, ask yourself 'would I speak to a small child the way I am speaking to this person'? Wishing you well on your path to health 🙏 #happiness #kindness #compassion #innerchild #mentalhealth #mentalfocus #performance #nutrition

Beautifully said! Treating others, and ourselves, with kindness and compassion is so important for our mental and physical well-being. The research showing kind people live longer is fascinating. I love the reminder to speak to others the way we would speak to a child - with warmth, patience and positivity. It's a great practice to check in on how we're communicating and make sure we're coming from a place of kindness. Thanks for sharing this insightful post! Wishing you all the best on your journey to health and happiness.

You WANT help, but people don’t seem to pick up on the clues you’re laying down.😡🫥 You’re drowning in everyone’s needs at your own expense—and here’s the kicker, YOU WANT AND NEED HELP. 😔 But asking for help might feel embarrassing, like you couldn’t handle it or figure it out on your own.🫣 Or maybe it feels like you’re an imposition, or not the super hero that everyone thinks you are. 🦸🏻♀️ And even when you do ask for help, people have no idea HOW to help you and you’re driven to an even more lonely state. You start to feel hopeless anyone can help. We aren’t born with these behaviors or traits, they’re learned, and if this is you, it’s not your fault. This is how your brain and nervous system have learned to keep you safe. It’s called the fawn state 🦌, and it’s a frustrating place to live. The good news is you can learn to find safety in your body by listening to simple cues and keeping small promises to yourself, along with somatic work to soothe the system. Follow for more insight as to how you work and how to break free from your frustrations. #stressedmom #anxietysupport #anxietyrelief #somatichealing #somatictherapy #healthcoaching #chronicfatigue #chronicillness #autoimmunewarrior #lupuswarrior #psoriaticarthritis #depressionhelp #healingjourney #smalldailyhabits #polyvagaltheory #healinganxiety #healingdepression #selflovejourney #lupusfighter #rheumatoidarthritiswarrior #hashimotosdisease #celiacliving #lipedemafighter #inalumni #peoplepleaser #mefirst

There are 3 stages to a stress response. The first one is called the Alarm Phase and lasts less than an hour. But Mother Nature was brilliant and knew where there was one alarm, another might be not be too far behind, so only about 80% of your body goes back into rest and digest. That other 20% stays hyper-vigilant, just in case. If, after a couple of hours have past and there’s no new alarm, your body will chill out and get back into full rest and digest mode. Enter modern life. 👀😵💫 If you have a stressful job, or deal with intense traffic, or have a rough relationship, or have a short fuse from some unaddressed traumas, or even keep your phone on, social media flowing with a 24-hour news cycle in the background: you’re hitting that alarm button again and again and again, which is why you’re not getting fully back into rest and digest and your body is in constant fight or flight mode, leaving you dysregulated and ultimately, depleted. Here’s the tool set we use to help you get out of the cycle and heal a body you hate: * Polyvagal theory * Embodiment and somatic work * IFS * Integrated nutrition * CBT If that sounds good, give us a follow. 💛💛💛 #ifs #selfhealer #internalfamilysystems #anxietysupport #anxietyrelief #somatichealing #somatictherapy #healthcoaching #chronicfatigue #chronicillness #autoimmunewarrior #lupuswarrior #psoriaticarthritis #depressionhelp #healingjourney #smalldailyhabits #polyvagaltheory #healinganxiety #healingdepression #selflovejourney #lupusfighter #rheumatoidarthritiswarrior #hashimotosdisease #celiacliving #lipedemafighter #inalumni

🔥Pain removal in one online session. 🔥 Your Inner Being communicates with you via: 👉Emotion 👉Pain 👉Intuition It constantly provides feedback. To continue on the course of your life when it generates emotion of excitement, joy, contentment, peace. OR To stop - reasses - adjust when it generates anxiety, depression, frustration, pain. Expect you never listen. So it intensifies pain. If you still do not listen. It creates disease. Ignore it again. It may even send you the most adversarial ally: cancer. Do you listen or do you ignore your pain and your emotions stifling it with pain killers or feel good affirmations? Never attending to its root cause. Never paying attention to what is required to be whole. #MsRoslonek #healing #anxiety #emotionalhealth

I’ve talked previously about how trauma can show up in the body, and one of the ways that shows up a lot is 𝐅𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐆𝐔𝐄 - just that real feeling of being totally drained and like everything is too much effort. 😴 While there may be medical causes such as anaemia (I always recommend consulting a doctor 🧑🏻⚕️) sometimes we just can’t figure out what the cause is. That’s when it’s worth considering how trauma (of any kind) can affect your body. - 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐑𝐞-𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 - 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥 - 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 (𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥) All of these (and more) can leave you feeling drained. So, this week if you find yourself feeling super exhausted with no obvious reason - try and sit with your feelings and figure out where your energy is being drained. Once you are aware - you can take steps to remedy the situation and begin to heal. (And remember what I’ve shared before about exactly what “trauma” can be - it’s not always huge, life altering events like abuse, death or war) #MindfulMonday #CoachingLife #Fatigue #Stress #Cortisol #TraumaIsDraining #TraumaTherapy #healingheartshealingminds
