The study is particularly relevant as it addresses the thermal management challenges in refueling stations that employ 70 MPa hydrogen storage vessels. These vessels are designed for long driving ranges but face significant temperature control issues during rapid refueling.

In a world where every watt counts, #electricvehicles are the gold medalists. ⚡⚡⚡ When it comes to the "#Olympics of Efficiency," still nothing comes close to the electric car. - Electricity from any source can be directly charged into the electric vehicles - Even electricity from a conventional powerplant can be generated highly efficiently in a powerplant (>45%) instead of locally in a fossil ar (<15%) To get eFuels a lot of steps are required: - Electricity Generation: First, electricity (ideally from renewable sources) is needed to power the entire process. - Electrolysis: This electricity is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen through #electrolysis. #Hydrogen is the key component needed for eFuel production. - CO2 Capture: CO2 is captured either from the atmosphere or from industrial processes. This captured CO2 is combined with the hydrogen. Synthesis: The hydrogen and #CO2 are then synthesized to produce hydrocarbons—creating synthetic fuels that can be used in traditional internal combustion engines. - Refinement and Distribution: The resulting eFuel must be refined, transported, and distributed, similar to conventional fuels. This multi-step process not only consumes a significant amount of energy but also requires careful management of #resources and #emissions at each stage. The efficiency losses at each step make #eFuels far less efficient compared to directly using electricity in #EVs.
