PROFESSIONALLY CURIOUS. RELATIONSHIP BUILDER. Global Marcoms Strategist, International Speaker. Broadcast Producer. Pioneering Podcaster '05. Passionate about DEI and neurodivergence.
Following a number of inquisitive emails, It's time to announce my departure from the podcast I co-founded with the PRCA. Fuse from the PRCA was conceived to present audio content in bite-sized chunks, allowing listeners to consume it conveniently at their leisure. Sir Martin Sorrell was our inaugural guest, and even then, the demand for longer video was apparent. As a result, after a single episode, we broadened the production to encompass multiple formats. I am deeply indebted to the late Francis Ingham for his acceptance of my proposal and for facilitating the formal collaboration that brought Fuse to life. To Michael Collins, Koray Camgöz, Farzana Baduel, David Olajide MPRCA, Richard Fernandez, and Ayesha Haniff, your commitment has been instrumental in constructing a storytelling platform that authentically conveys the realities of our industry, celebrates achievements, and most importantly, underscores the human beings behind campaigns. I wish Curzon PR and PRCA continued success with Fuse. With newfound space in my schedule and, for the first time since 1997, no media content production to oversee, there are new stories to be told. Part-time, moving forward what is next? Talk radio, books, podcasts – who knows? Ultimately, everyone has a story to share and I want to help them to connect with audiences and communities. #mediaproducer #storytelling #buildrelationships

Could not agree more about this outdated narrative! Although the industry has changed, it's our job to educate the next generation of journalists on responsibly using new tools such as AI, vertical video and fact-checking software. Here's to the next (robust) chapter of storytelling and scholastic journalism! #scholasticjournalism #nonprofitnews #studentjournalism #journalismindustry
Is the news industry dying? Poynter president Neil Brown says that’s a tired and incomplete narrative in the second episode of The Poynter Report Podcast. “The narrative of the news business is dying — is wrong. It’s off,” Brown said. “It’s transforming. It’s different. It’s not what it was, but it’s new and different.” He continues: “Journalism remains a very challenging business to win over audiences. It's a fact. It's a fact for television. It's a fact for former legacy newspapers. But the truth of the matter is, there's so much more going on, and we simply want to tell a much more complete and rounded out story.” Listen to his sit-down with podcast host Tom Jones here: https://lnkd.in/eh6-9g8j

Virtual Asst. | I take the load off the Ceo's plate so they can focus on what matters | Bringing clarity to chaos | Streamlining Workflows
I couldn’t balance my books. No matter how hard I tried. Not the first time it had happened either. Thing is with money you must record all your transactions the same day. Or else you have hell to pay. Let me explain. Minus the cash at hand, the dates of the transactions are equally as important for entry in the general journal and cash books to balance. Mine were terribly off. After going over it for an hour or so what felt like a never-ending cycle, the books balanced. Finally! A method to the madness. Just like so, Podcast editing follows a 2 part process 1- cleaning & 2- polishing. Then the extra’s intro/outro, transcripts, and shownotes are added. This allows for a timely delivery never to miss a deadline. A smooth workflow. Win-win. For you and the client. Do you have a protocol at work that you must abide by? How do you handle it if things go South? ----- Hi 🖐 I’m Mubina Aziz podcast editor. I will elevate your brand with my podcast editing skills & ensure your message is not just heard but felt. DM me and let’s chat. ----- #14dayscontentcreationbootcampwithtab #podcastediting

Copywriters: sell benefits, not features Vic & Bob: No I recently heard Bob Mortimer claim on a podcast that him and Vic Reeves launched the Boost bar back in the 90s. As is somehow the way with most of Bob's surreal-sounding life stories, it turned out to be absolutely true. Credit to Vic Reeves for coming up with the timeless slogan:- "It's slightly rippled with a flat underside" --- P.S. want to use fun stories like this so you can sell to your email subscribers, without doing their nut in? OD Practitioner | Consultant | Facilitator | Coach (ACC) --- Leadership | Change | Organisational Development | Innovation
Listened to this podcast episode on Friday while driving after a great catch up with Bryan Victor Lim and immediately messaged him to share this and apologise for moving from a emotional conversation to a practical conversation too quickly. I could sense that the conversation did not flow 5 minutes after I switched conversation lanes without signaling. This is definitely a super useful and simple frame to reflect on when communicating! I will let an excerpt by the business insider explain this better: Charles Duhigg, author of "The Power of Habit," says all conversations call into one of 3 types. Knowing if you're in a practical, emotional, or social conversation helps you connect. What is this really about? (A practical conversation) How do we feel? (An emotional conversation) Who are we? (A social conversation) Following the other person and switching conversation types makes you a "supercommunicator." Duhigg said a common source of misunderstanding is not knowing if someone wants to be "helped, hugged, or heard" when they mention a problem. Knowing the conversation type can help with that. For example, if a friend says they had a terrible day at work, there are different directions the conversation can go. They may want you to empathize with them (emotional), troubleshoot solutions (practical), or discuss how their work friends would take it if they quit (social). Noticing what a coworker, partner, friend, or stranger wants out of the conversation can help you provide exactly what they need, whether it's validation, advice, or just a listening ear." Enjoy the podcast! really great tips! and I should probably read both of his books! https://lnkd.in/g9Fmg9JW

Pro Tip: Make them sit up and take notice! Just a reminder that when you have an opportunity to 'throw your hat' into the ring- whether it's for a speaking opp, a podcast opp, an article publication, pretty much ANYTHING- you also have the power to rise above the masses. To set yourself apart. When you see a call for speakers, writers, contributors, guests...Rather than just commenting 'Interested' or 'Me!' like 97.4% of the other interested folks, go ahead and lead with your value. Tell them who you are, why you're the person for the job and how you meet their needs. Half the game (often more) is about making the other person's life easier (the event planner, the editor, the podcast host, the journalist)...They're INFINITELY more likely to sit up and take notice of you if you simply take the 30 extra seconds to do just that! _______ If you're looking to increase your visibility in your market, better position yourself as a thought leader or tell your story in a bigger, bolder way...The Standing Ovation Society is right for you- link in comments. If you need a writer and messaging strategist to level up your website, content and social media game, DM me. erin@erinthomascommunications.com
