At Onsite Women’s Health, we know that convenience drives breast cancer screening compliance, and compliance saves lives. In a recent Nashville Business Journal article, Onsite CEO Jillian Wright shed light on adding new provider locations to offer in-office breast health and imaging services, which will ultimately drive breast cancer screening and detection rates. Since January, Onsite has added 10 new locations and has an additional 32 in the pipeline that are slated to open by the end of the year. “Everybody gets really excited about having their location up and running by October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Jillian. “We are very busy coming up in August, September, October.” Read the full article to learn more about Onsite’s plans and their mission to improve women’s healthcare: https://bit.ly/3WjOm57. #OnsiteWomens #BreastCancer #Leadership #Growth #Nashville #Tennessee

#breastcancer screening is an area we would love to see more #femtec #founders get in to, especially to decrease #disparities. “When Black women are diagnosed, it tends to be at a later stage of the disease. White women are diagnosed with stage 1 and 2 and Black women more often at stage 3 or stage 4, which is metastatic,” Lisa Hayes, ED for Pink-4-Ever, Inc said. Here are some areas for improvement: 1. A recent study showed that "although most women reported that their clinicians counseled them about breast density, the unaddressed worries or concerns and unanswered questions, especially among Hispanic and Asian women and those with low literacy, highlighted areas where discussions could be improved." This would be an easy patient education module. 2. Self scheduling can vastly improve our screening rates. "“Self-scheduling helps make the path to mammogram completion a little smoother” said the study’s lead author, Kimberly Waddell, PhD, MSCI. “Simple changes like these can have an outsized impact on preventive health screenings.” 3. Patient navigators can help with follow up tests needed to assess for cancer, especially for patients with low resources. The study concluded that "Expanding patient navigators to include all disadvantaged women within primary care networks could improve equity in cancer care." What are your ideas? What are you working on? Sources: Intro: https://lnkd.in/etKhHTfp 1. Kressin NR, Wormwood JB, Battaglia TA, Slanetz PJ, Gunn CM. In a significant move towards proactive #healthcare, the Medanta , a part of the renowned Medanta Hospital (Gurgaon), has unveiled the #SAVERAinitiative, introducing #TactileBreastExamination (TBE) for early #breastcancerscreening. KANCHAN KAUR, Senior Director of Breast Care at Medanta, spearheaded the initiative, #leveraging the heightened tactile senses of visually impaired women for precise #detection. TBE stands as a pioneering approach to early #breastcancerdetection, aligning with Medanta's commitment to a #holistic #healthcare approach. KANCHAN KAUR underscored the importance of proactive screening, highlighting the impressive 95 percent curability rate for cases detected at an early stage. As part of the initiative, three out of four #MedicalTactileExaminers (MTEs) will initially operate in government medical establishments, with plans to expand coverage to more districts. #TBE will be seamlessly integrated into routine consultations, enhancing #proactive screening and ultimately improving treatment outcomes. KANCHAN KAUR expressed optimism about the initiative's impact, stating, "TBE harnesses the heightened tactile senses of visually impaired women, offering a precise and reliable method for early breast cancer detection. By incorporating this into routine consultations, we aim to create a widespread impact, reaching more women and enhancing the overall effectiveness of breast cancer screening." The #SAVERAinitiative not only emphasizes the importance of early detection but also demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity by empowering visually impaired women to play a vital role in the healthcare system. Medanta's innovative approach aligns with its overarching mission to provide accessible and comprehensive healthcare solutions, particularly in the critical area of breast care. Heart health in women declines rapidly after menopause because we lose the protective effects of oestrogen. So while policies need to change when it comes to screening, we also need more education too. Because although deaths from heart disease are 13 times the rate of breast cancer, women tend to think the opposite. Women are twice as likely to say breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women as they are to say heart disease. GENEXIA, an AI start-up out of Cincinnati, is doing just that. #AI #womenshealth #startup #innovation https://lnkd.in/dGiT7c87

🚀 We have a big problem with cancer care in Aotearoa. The headlines tell us. We hear and see it in our communities. The burnt-out health professionals can attest to it. The gap between what the research says in cancer care and what our stretched public health services provides is vast, and it’s not a gap that is closing any time soon!💥 We know that in Aotearoa the care received by cancer survivors is fragmented and inequitable and does not fully meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. Last week, hosted by Grant Schofield , we presented to PREKURE Health Coaches. We shared our CGoals vision for solutions to this complex problem. Research backs the need for an exercise as medicine approach to improving the cancer care landscape for all. Oncology physiotherapists and health coaches have vital roles to play in the solution, as interdisciplinary team members and collaborative partners in a lifestyle medicine approach. There is hope. With developments in treatment and screening for cancer there are now more opportunities than ever before for cancer wellness, rather than a clear progression into cancer illness. Oncology physiotherapy and 'exercise as medicine' could and should be embedded and accessible as part of the cancer care continuum for all. We know a lot of what needs to happen. Today, there is a tremendous opportunity to not only improve the lives of those with cancer, but to prevent some cancers from progressing AND equal potential to impact healthcare spend and workforce sustainability. Evidence exists to support the possibilities and beneficial outcomes not just for individuals, but for communities and economies through meaningful rehabilitation and exercise as medicine! Thank you PreKure for inviting us to share our passion and our mahi with your Graduate Health Coaches. Our CGoals work spans a wide range of solution implementation, advocacy and education. If you think we might be able to help you to take the next steps, and delivery better outcomes by aligning your services with the research evidence for rehabilitation in cancer, we’d love to korero. #lifestylemedicine #solutionfocused #consultancy #teamwork #healthcareequity #coachingapproach
