Digital health is gaining worldwide recognition as the key to better health care delivery, opening new ways to deliver care to more people, more efficiently. We are excited to have launched Queensland’s Health Research Digital Ecosystem Capability Statement (statement) and Blueprint for the Future, which will help drive health care value by encouraging collaboration and data sharing between health care and research organisations. This statement will enable health researchers to better navigate digital ecosystems within health and medical research, to safely access and share research materials, all aimed at enhancing health care for Queenslanders. This statement was funded by Queensland Health, bringing together world leading experts from Queensland Health, CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) and The University of Queensland’s Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC). Digital Transformation for Health: The Lancet-FT Commission's Consortium The Lancet and Financial Times Commission, in their report on governing Health Future 2030 emphasized the impact of digital transformations on health. 🧒🏼 The report focused on digitalization's effect on young people's health, proposing urgent action areas for policymakers. Recommendations included prioritizing young people's health in digital health development, reorienting digital technologies towards public value, and recognizing the digital ecosystem as a new health setting. 🤝The Commission highlighted the need for participatory governance, addressing digital divides, and implementing precautionary approaches to digital and data governance. They stressed the importance of considering health equity, democracy, solidarity, and human rights in future-ready governance mechanisms. 📃To further their work, they established the Digital Transformations for Health Lab, aiming to translate recommendations into policies and governance instruments, particularly in countries with large young populations. The Lab seeks to be a dynamic space for collaborative thinking, experimentation, and innovation, involving young people in shaping the future of health. #DigitalTranformation #Health #Future

Exciting news! Kaylie Toll (Alliance Senior Research Officer) has had her PhD protocol published in the Journal of Digital Health. Her manuscript titled 'Enhancing the Implementation of Provider-to-provider Telehealth in Rural and Remote Areas: A Mixed Methods Study Protocol' outlines how she will evaluate the current implementation of WACHS' Command Centre services and explore factors associated with their differential use. The rural provider-to-provider telehealth service connects rural and remote clinicians to a 'hub' of healthcare specialists, which allows for increased access to emergency and specialised healthcare. This model has several benefits for providers in rural and remote areas including enhanced knowledge, expanded professional development opportunities, improved scope of practice, and confidence in treating more complex cases, which could have implications for supporting and futureproofing our health workforce. A special thanks to Kaylie’s PhD supervisors and WACHS advisors for their support and guidance: A/Prof Joanna Moullin, Prof Suzanne Robinson, Prof Timothy Carey, Dr Aled Williams and Steve Andrew. At #DaiiichiSankyoEurope, we champion the inclusion of patient experiences and opinions during the decision-making process in healthcare. The Office of Health Economics (OHE) recently published a white paper; “Incorporating the Patient Voice in Health Technology Assessment”, commissioned and funded by Daiichi Sankyo. The paper highlights the value of including the patient perspective when making key decisions around new health technology. With input from colleagues from Daiichi Sankyo, the research identifies the ways patient evidence data can bring valuable insight to the decision-making process. Discover the three key benefits of using patient input in the snippets from the paper below 👇 Read the full paper at the link here: https://lnkd.in/grKcyGY7
