Digital health is gaining worldwide recognition as the key to better health care delivery, opening new ways to deliver care to more people, more efficiently. We are excited to have launched Queensland’s Health Research Digital Ecosystem Capability Statement (statement) and Blueprint for the Future, which will help drive health care value by encouraging collaboration and data sharing between health care and research organisations. This statement will enable health researchers to better navigate digital ecosystems within health and medical research, to safely access and share research materials, all aimed at enhancing health care for Queenslanders. This statement was funded by Queensland Health, bringing together world leading experts from Queensland Health, CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) and The University of Queensland’s Queensland Digital Health Centre (QDHeC). Value in Health Regional Issues invites submissions for a thematic issue dedicated to Health Equity Research. We invite the global HEOR community to contribute to this issue with research articles, health policy perspectives, and systematic or scoping reviews. The editors are particularly interested in impact evaluation of health interventions on the distribution of health outcomes in specific populations or health system performance indicators (eg, access, utilization, health system financing, etc) across subgroups of the population. These subsets may be defined by different equity concerns such as socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, or belonging to a vulnerable group. Authors should submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system at https://lnkd.in/eshXE4Bm before December 1, 2024. Also, be sure to indicate in your cover letter that the paper is to be considered as part of the Health Equity Research theme. https://lnkd.in/eTD_n7uz

As an aspiring Public Health practioner, I love this article.
Who Is a Global Public Health Expert? A powerful question with no universal answer. This new paper by Chiamaka P. Ojiako and colleagues challenges the long-standing paradigm of global health expertise. It sheds light on how expertise has historically been defined by power, privilege, and proximity to wealth—often sidelining the lived experiences and knowledge of professionals from the Global South. We need a fundamental shift in how global health expertise is valued. It’s time to recognize that lived experience, local knowledge, and cultural competence are just as crucial as academic qualifications. The pandemic showed us that global health isn’t just about medical science—it’s about politics, culture, and equity. Let’s broaden our understanding of what makes someone a global health expert. Your thoughts? How can we ensure that expertise in global health truly reflects global voices? You can access the paper below. Luchuo E. Bain.Sadia A. Digital Transformation for Health: The Lancet-FT Commission's Consortium The Lancet and Financial Times Commission, in their report on governing Health Future 2030 emphasized the impact of digital transformations on health. 🧒🏼 The report focused on digitalization's effect on young people's health, proposing urgent action areas for policymakers. Recommendations included prioritizing young people's health in digital health development, reorienting digital technologies towards public value, and recognizing the digital ecosystem as a new health setting. 🤝The Commission highlighted the need for participatory governance, addressing digital divides, and implementing precautionary approaches to digital and data governance. They stressed the importance of considering health equity, democracy, solidarity, and human rights in future-ready governance mechanisms. 📃To further their work, they established the Digital Transformations for Health Lab, aiming to translate recommendations into policies and governance instruments, particularly in countries with large young populations. The Lab seeks to be a dynamic space for collaborative thinking, experimentation, and innovation, involving young people in shaping the future of health. #DigitalTranformation #Health #Future

Being a global health expert it is necessary to understand what drives you in this field💯 Often the realities faced on the ground are often vastly different from the idealised discussions had in a comfortable office setting. #globalhealth #healthequity
