Funding boost to enliven City’s street-based events 🏙️✨🕺 Transport for NSW has announced that City of Wagga Wagga is one of 16 NSW local government areas to receive $500,000 through the Permit/Plug/Play Pilot Program. The funding will be used to streamline the delivery of street-based events by enhancing event infrastructure and reducing operational costs for organisers. This will improve event management processes and support the city's cultural, economic, and social activities. Plans include developing pre-approved Traffic Control Plan templates and installing infrastructure such as retractable road bollards, electrical provisions, and additional lighting. The funds will also support the Festival of W 2025, demonstrating the new processes and infrastructure in action. The project will focus on Baylis Street (Morrow to Fitzmaurice streets), Morrow Street (Baylis to Peter streets), and Burns Way. Learn more >>https://bit.ly/3XDn7Dz 📸 Festival of W 2024

The light installations and enchanting projections are designed in collaboration with the artists, local and regional businesses, Mons residents and the general public. 📲 For additional information, visit the City of Mons website 🔗 https://lnkd.in/en6pYP35 Because of this two weekend event, many routes in Mons will be closed or redirected. 🚧 If you plan to attend the festival, please remember that parking may be limited. When attending the festival, please stay safe and follow these tips: - Do not bring backpacks or leave belongings unattended. Sporadic checks may be carried out by the police. - If you attend the event with small children, please provide them with a bracelet with a phone number so they can reach you if they get lost. - Bring your ID cards. - Don't bring masks and "distinctive" signs, because they are prohibited items. - Maintain situational awareness at all times when attending events involving large crowds. - Avoid locations which restrict or limit your movement and ability to exit the area quickly. - Pre-establish easily recognizable meeting spots to be used as emergency evacuation points where you and your family/friends can gather if needed. - Move away from fights and incidents. Avoid panicked crowds. - Report any suspicious activity, unattended bags or anything outside of the norm. #StrongerTogether #StaySafe

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 \\ As an event producer, I’ve learned that every detail counts, especially in logistics. The recent challenges at the No Values Punk Rock Festival highlight the importance of planning every part of the attendee experience. While crafting an unforgettable lineup is crucial, the success of an event also depends on smooth operations from arrival to departure. Here are key takeaways for planning your events: Promote Alternative Transportation: Use nearby public transport options and shuttles to reduce traffic and enhance convenience. Ensure Accurate Communication: Provide clear and timely information about parking and transport options to avoid confusion. Transportation Equity: Offer options beyond personal vehicles to make events more inclusive. Public transport aligns with the punk movement's ethos of equality and justice. Future Planning: Capitalize on improvements in public transit infrastructure and balance the benefits with potential challenges. By planning every aspect of the attendee journey, we can ensure our events are memorable for their content and seamless execution. Let’s learn from these missteps and strive to create events that rock from start to finish. 📸 L. Paul Mann Read more in the Forbes article posted in the comments here: https://lnkd.in/gTH-CAgT

Three simple actions to arrange successful events (well, and pretty much anything) in small towns. (1) explore. Guaranteed you’ll find the most incredible resources from people to assets to venues. It will all be there. (2) ask. You’ll be surprised how often people say yes and genuinely want to help you out. (3) trust. It may not look like you imagined and it almost certainly won’t be what a big hotel would offer. But that’s ok. Fit for purpose is the new perfect. And it will never be boring !! 5 weeks to go until this years national Social Impact in the Regions conference. If you care about regional communities and want a unique adventure I thoroughly suggest you book your ticket.
This pic is of our conference dinner venue. Yes! Fringe festival meets the church in a truly creative celebration of community coming together. Just in case you’re out of the loop check out the other unique #SIITR24 features: 💥 our conference venue will be hosted in a disused shopping centre food court right in the heart of town. 💥 we have a whole train carriage bringing delegates from Sydney 💥 the whole Kempsey cbd has been activated for the event from art exhibitions in empty shops to a photography exhibition featuring local faces to lunching in local cafes rather than being stuck in the one spot 💥 there is a billeting program offering free accommodation with local people 💥 we have just launched the National Pitchfest 💥 after the event we will be taking your identified issues and input to policy makers in both the state and federal government 💥 SIITR24 has its own youth stream expertly coordinated by Futures Isle 💥 wherever possible our catering is not only sourced locally but also grown locally. 💥 SIITR24 has unearthed a range of local venues. You have to be there to see them all 💥 the program features a range of local artists throughout the entire event This and more on our website https://lnkd.in/gmfpbaSW
