We hope you will enjoy the trailers for this thoughtful film called "The Ride Ahead." From the movie website, "Samuel Habib is a typical 21-year-old, itching to move out, start a career and find love. But no one tells you how to be an adult, let alone an adult with a disability. Can a community of disability activists help him follow his dreams?" Learn more about this film at https://lnkd.in/d-bwFeZw.

WEEKLY WRAPPED WISDOM! I come across such interesting finds in the week. I've decided to share my top finds on a Friyay 💃 🏆 Trevor Noah winning an Emmy, need I say more? *goosebumps* https://lnkd.in/dPVRMmJS 💭 This post by Nadia Harris got me thinking about "professionalism". There was a time I questioned a colleague why he wore takkies to work. I remember saying "Do you see any VP's wearing takkies?" and his response was, "I will be the first!" He fetched my wig as Eusebius would say and Nadia Harris is collectively fetching all our wigs with this one! https://lnkd.in/d9xs8HDr 🎉 🙌 Loved this concept of the “honesty squad” by Sylvester Chauke and going against the norm. Such amazing ideas on being relevant to the time we’re in for Marketing and PR teams utilising nothing other than creativity: https://lnkd.in/d2z-2ci9 🎊 ✨ A closely related one by Sefiso Hlongwane, "Authentic influence emanates from expertise, credibility, and genuine advocacy—not merely from a celebrity’s fame or following" as he talks about authenticity in Marketing https://lnkd.in/dR23RKXa I think the theme for this week can be summed up in the word - AUTHENTICITY! #weeklywrappedwisdom #finds #excitingideas #thingsiloved #switchedon #thinking #newworldorder #changeisgood #thoughtleadership

This is a good one. So many times people rush to just get through things and give less consideration to the quality of what they're doing. "It's good enough" 😑 Then you end up wasting time going back and having to fix it, when you could have just focused a little bit of additional energy to doing the job the right way the first time around. There was an article I read earlier this morning where Adam Grant (Penn professor / psychologist) discussed the value and importance of the intensity of your work, and how it far outweighs the volume. 💪 Do the job with greater intensity and focus and quality, and it might take a little bit longer. But do a poor job, and then you're going to be wasting time and energy later on rework, which could have been dedicated to other activities. I had seen a meme some time ago that summed things up nicely: We offer 3 kinds of services - Good, Cheap, Fast Good & Cheap won't be Fast, Fast & Good won't be Cheap, and Cheap & Fast won't be Good! 😎

"You can't get influence by waking up and saying I'm going to influence people." Influence is the result of saying things over time that people find helpful, provocative, and insightful. And that's exactly what Jeffrey Gundlach does. Check out our most-watched session from Future Proof Festival here: https://lnkd.in/gnuRBgFM

Building Stronger Teams through Effective Conflict Resolution and Performance Enhancement | Employee Relations Coach
"Listening is an overlooked leadership tool." This line from a recent article struck a chord with me. How often do we truly listen to our team members? Not just hurriedly hearing their words, but understanding the message-behind-the-message? I’ve found that asking, “What do you think?”, gives me more insight into the true thoughts and emotions they have about a particular topic. It’s a simple question, I admit it takes more time out of my day, but the investment in time allows me to get a clearer picture, detect concerns, assess capabilities; while also helping me strengthen my relationship with my team member who undoubtedly feels more valued by me seeking their opinion. These are all elements of building a high-performing and cohesive team. For me, leadership is not about having all the answers, rather nurturing my team so they can feel confident and empowered to articulate and bring ideas, concerns, and solutions my way. Here are a few ways we can listen better: • Engage Fully: Put down the phone, close the laptop, and be present. Practice your eye contact! • Ask More Questions: Instead of jumping in with advice, ask clarifying questions. Practice your patience! • Create Space: Make sure your schedule allows time for these meaningful conversations. Don’t make them feel they are interrupting your busy schedule. Listening is about more than just hearing words; it’s about valuing every voice. How do you ensure you’re truly listening to your team?
Happy World Listening Day! 🌍👂 Let's celebrate the power of listening and make every voice heard. #WorldListeningDay #InclusiveWorkplace

This morning I was a guest speaker for Neurodiversity Stories. Despite it being an informal conversation about my story as a neurodivergent person, I was TERRIFIED. My RSD was kicking in before I even began talking. I was thinking: 👉 What if I stumble on my words? 👉 What if I forget aspects about my own life? 👉 What if I go off on irrelivent tangeants? 👉 What if I can't communicate my thoughts well and it makes no sense? 👉 What if I repeat myself too much? What if? What if? What if? Logically, I think it went well! But my brain is dominated by my emotions and is now of course trying to analyse every little detail. Picking out what I could have done better and should have done better. On the one hand, this aspect of myself is how I have got to where I am today with my academic and workplace achievements, on the other hand it is a primary reason for my cripplingly low self-esteem and abysmal mental health. My only goal with this was to provide value to others who may have experienced similar things to me, and may still be struggling to feel accepted and appreciated as they are. So hopefully, I have achieved that with this, and if I have then I'll take that as a win! #adhd #dyslexic #neurodivergent #neurodiversity #acceptance #neurodiversityatwork #neurodiversityacceptance #neurodiversityawareness #neurodiversitysupport #autistic #autismacceptance https://lnkd.in/e7t5YUGF

How much do you laugh at work? Work is no laughing matter, you might reply. And sure - I’m not talking about being unserious, unprofessional or even mean with jokes. Stick with me: Because laughter is an important metric for the health of your team. Maybe even it says something about your whole company. Ever worked somewhere where people are treading on eggshells every day, afraid to make mistakes or say the wrong thing? Do you have co-workers who are reliably easily offended? Is everything about tick-box policies, rather than what people do? That signals poor organisational culture. And it will lead to poor results, not just unhappy people. So next time you’re around colleagues (this works best in person), or you’re visiting another company, listen out. Laughter is a positive indicator. *As an aside, we just had a great day with our colleague Julian Heathcote Wright, in town for a little while - lots of laughter. #culture #agencylife
Our lovely team at Collective Content is spread around the globe. Today, having worked closely together for almost two years and having had countless video calls, Julian Heathcote Wright (based in Spain) and I got to meet in person for the first time! I think you can see the excitement on our faces 😊
