I've had several people ask me how it's been starting my clinical career with Steady Hope. My answer: I love it! I knew after my first conversation with Kim DeRamus Lareau, LPC, CPCS that working here would be a great fit. Steady Hope's values align closely with my own: 👉 Steadiness: To be a grounded and steady presence in the #therapy room, we practice this with each other and in our individual lives. 👉 Authenticity: To show up and encourage authenticity in our clients, we first seek to pursue it within our own stories. 👉 Excellence: We strive to provide clinically excellent and informed care as we receive ongoing trainings, consultation, and continuing education. 👉 Collaborative Community: We see therapy as a partnership: with our clients during a session, within our team as we support one another, and in our local community as we share #mentalhealth resources. 👉 Holistic Care: We see individuals as whole people with many interconnected parts - mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional - all of which are considered throughout the therapy journey. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to learn more about our practice, or #counseling in general in the #Atlanta area.

Helping anxious, stressed, burnt out professionals, students & executives land in a life worth living. | Life-Changing Clinical Counselling & Occupational Therapy Team | Free Consults
I was chatting with another Clinic Owner yesterday about the difference a mindset of abundance & community over competition & scarcity makes in owning a clinic and in running a business as a therapist in general. The two of us believe there is more than enough work to go around and that it’s more important to do business by connecting deeply and thinking about clients and our team getting the right fit for their needs than it is to be competitive or to get caught in notions like “poaching” or “stealing.” We agreed these words have no place in a truly therapeutic environment, as they are based in fear, scarcity, and a fixed mindset — all things we work so hard to help clients address! We believe therapy belongs to the client, and associates (whether employees or contractors), deserve to be supported in making whatever choices make the most sense for their life - whether that seems on the surface to support the clinic’s needs or not. We believe in community, care, connection, and collaboration over competition/ scarcity, and we kinda really hope this mindset hits with more and more clinic owners and therapists in private practice because it just feels so much better for everyone, and at the end of the day, it is so much more client centred and helpful.

Embarking on the therapy journey as a couple can feel like stepping into the unknown, especially when one of you is hesitant. Lisa Brookman, psychotherapist and co-founder of West Island Therapy and Wellness Centre, has seen this scenario unfold many times—and there's a path forward. If you're the one ready to dive in, Lisa encourages you to take the lead. It's not uncommon for one partner to be unsure about therapy, but don't let this deter you. Your willingness to start can be the catalyst for change. Here's the Key: Commit to just three sessions to begin with. Therapy is about building a connection—a therapeutic alliance with your counselor. It's in this safe space that you'll both find the comfort to open up and explore deeper emotions and dynamics. Surprisingly, it's often the partner who was initially resistant who finds great comfort and insight in the process. They discover a space to voice their thoughts and feelings, perhaps for the first time in a safe, structured environment. 🌟 Open the Door: Let therapy be the bridge to understanding and growth in your relationship. Your journey to better communication and connection starts with that first step. Ready to begin? Reach out to us. Let's explore this journey together, at a pace that feels right for both of you. https://lnkd.in/gj2-RHJ #CouplesTherapy #TherapyJourney #RelationshipGoals #WestIslandTherapy #TakeTheFirstStep #witwc3

Dr. Peter Pearson introduces The NEW 2-Chair technique, a dynamic approach to therapy that helps clients engage with the conflicting parts of themselves—bridging internal struggles between what they 'should' do and what they desire. Here’s what The NEW 2-Chair work brings to your sessions: Internal Dialogue: Facilitates a meaningful conversation between the self-critical voice and the part yearning for change. Therapeutic Guidance: As therapists, you orchestrate this dialogue, helping clients to see their internal conflicts clearly and promoting empathy between their contrasting selves. Empathetic Resolution: This method allows clients to understand and reconcile their internal divisions, fostering profound empathy and self-awareness. The result is a transformative therapeutic experience that unlocks deeper understanding and healing. Join Dr. Pearson for "The NEW 2-Chair: Interventions for Healing the Fractured Self," a comprehensive six-session series focused on mastering this technique.
