Two years ago, Organon started this journey as a company with a clear mission: to truly make a difference in women's health. Our approach has been as simple as it is innovative – listening to women, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions for the unmet healthcare issues they face. In my opinion, being featured on Fortune's 2023 Change the World list conveys two important messages. Firstly, it acknowledges that in the past two years, we've initiated significant changes and had a positive impact. Secondly and more importantly, it underscores the fact that there's still a lot of work ahead of us. Transforming women's health isn't something we can tackle alone as a company; it requires strong partnerships with governments, payors, innovators and development organizations. I've had people run away from me at networking events. 🏃♂️ This might sound like a line from a comedy, but as a femtech founder, this is a reality I encounter. A topic of female health can still clear a room faster than you can say 'menstruation.' At non-specialized healthcare and femtech events, my networking experiences are typically polarized. On one side, there are people, women included, who become uncomfortable at the mere mention of menstrual health. They quickly look for an exit from the conversation. On the other side, there are those who show genuine interest, leading to in-depth discussions and potential partnerships. 🤝 This range of reactions represents the persistent challenges in the femtech sector. Despite advancements in technology and innovation, societal stigmas around women's health continue to be a significant barrier. It's a reminder of the ongoing work needed to normalize these conversations. Resilience and a deep commitment to the cause are non-negotiable for a leader in this field. Yet, the rewards are immensely gratifying. Each meaningful conversation and new connection represents progress in breaking down barriers and promoting open, inclusive dialogue around women's health. Our journey in femtech is not just about technological innovation but societal transformation. There's still a long way to go, but I'm confident we're moving in the right direction, one open conversation at a time. "By using data analytics, we can understand how race, culture, and context interact with women’s health.” - Audrey Tsang CEO of Clue During the past week, I had the opportunity to attend VivaTech in Paris and hear from major leaders and startups leveraging technology to address our world’s biggest challenges. One of the most insightful conversations came from four fascinating women advancing female health and wellness through innovation. Brittany Barreto, Ph.D. Deeptha Khanna Audrey Tsang Maria D. Toler While exploring the Femtech sector, several critical issues emerged. These included the lack of information and resources available for menopause and the absence of affordable solutions for women needing sexual and reproductive treatments, who often face a hostile healthcare system. From this ongoing conversation, I left with one major takeaway: the importance of data analytics and access to trustworthy information. This is crucial so women can make informed decisions about their health, and policymakers can create informed public policies that positively impact our lives. Women represent half of the population, yet many of us navigate our health journeys alone, without truly understanding what happens to our bodies at each stage. VivaTech opened my eyes to how technology plays an important role in solving major social issues. Especially for women, it offers a starting point for transforming our health journeys through innovative solutions and data-driven insights.

Dear Politicians,  Dear Investors,  and yes Dear Men,   This DOES affect you, too.....   It affects our societies. It affects your family – your present and future - your mother, wife, your daughters and sisters. Directly, it affects girls and women. Or to be precise 190 million women globally or 10% of all reproductive women. It is a chronic disease with severe, life-impacting pain that can result in depression, anxiety, and up to 50% risk of infertility. And it takes typical 7-9 years before you have a diagnosis and yet no cure. But indirectly, it does affect us all.   Despite these horrific statistics, there is very little awareness and knowledge about the disease and ASTOUNDING little funding allocated for this disease that affect so many lives - directly and indirectly. The “it” is Endometriosis.   Endometriosis was the chosen “Deep Dive” topic of our Medicon Valley Alliance Women's Health Network yesterday organised in close collaboration with our member partner BioInnovation Institute. An auditorium filled for a program with a line up of international stellar speakers and intens discussion and networking sessions.   At Medicon Valley Alliance, we believe that Denmark and Sweden have all the potential to be front-runners in women’s health. We rank at the very top of various indexes: * European Innovation Scoreboard (Sweden #1, Denmark #3) * Best European Countries for Business (Denmark #1, Sweden #2) * Sustainable Development Goals (Denmark #2, Sweden #3) * Digital Economy & Society (Denmark #2, Sweden #4) * Gender Equality (Sweden #4, Denmark #32)   AND we have in our cross-border region Medicon Valley the largest and one of the leading life science eco-systems in the European Union.
