We provide a global service, but we also focus on supporting the communities in the places we work. And we’re pleased to be doing just that from our founding office in Inverness, as today marks one year of our four-year sponsorship of the Highland Rugby Club. Across the club’s four teams (three men’s, one women’s), we’ve witnessed some stellar performances and can’t wait to see what next season will bring. #SupportLocal #OrionGroup #Highland #Inverness

State of Rugby in Glasgow's East End: A Muddy Pitch and an Uphill Battle As a volunteer on the committee of our local club in Glasgow's East End, I witness firsthand the passion for the sport, despite being a clear minority in a city obsessed with football. We are the only rugby club in the east of Glasgow, within the city boundary, fostering a true grassroots movement. We build camaraderie and resilience on the pitch, but our biggest challenge isn't tackles or scrums – it's the state of the pitches themselves. Imagine this: you turn up for training, eager to hone your skills, and are greeted by a scene resembling a river. Mud reigns supreme, with puddles the size of small ponds threatening to swallow your boots whole. These aren't just damp patches – we're talking about pitches that resemble a tributary of the nearby Tollcross Burn after a heavy downpour. This is the reality for our club, the only two public rugby pitches available in the East End. And the kicker? They're council-owned, with access granted on a permission basis only. Here's the even more frustrating part. Millions have been recently poured into flood management in nearby areas through the City Region Deal. Yet, our pitches – the very foundation for nurturing future rugby talent – seem to have been completely overlooked and in fact become worse. The same thing has happened at the local Bowling Club too. Glasgow City Council, Scottish Water, SEPA – where's the support for grassroots sports like rugby? Open spaces are meant for recreation, not replicating the murky depths of a river! Basic geography tells you these shouldn't be overflowing with this much water. We're passionate, but we can't fight the tide (literally) on our own. Better player facilities are crucial for our dedicated coaches, volunteers, and most importantly, the future of rugby in Glasgow's East End. **#glasgowrugby #minoritysport #grassrootsstruggles #weneedbetterpitches**

Sign of the times (passion related) Is it time to take a leaf from the English/ Europe and privatise rugby clubs in AUS and NZ? Is it time to let the reins go #ARU and #NZRU and create a comp using local teams rather than rep teams Here’s why. 1. Let small town/ suburban clubs showcase their locally breed talent. 2. Use local suburban fields, instead of empty stadiums. 3. Gives the community a reason to come together. 4. Uncapped salaries. 5. Be cool to see my junior club play in a tier #1 national / cross Tasmania comp. 6. Easy recruitment 7. A board that is familiar to the club since juniors The list goes on… what could be the 8th and 9th why? #local #sport #rugby #sponsorship #privatisation #suburbs #makechangehappen #initiative #newbeginnings

Scottie Scheffler has been through a lot these past couple of months, but keeps on persevering and setting records! He is spending some time off the course investing in the Texas Ranchers pickleball team. I hope to see more of his business endeavors soon! #entrepreneur #business #golf #pga #investments
Scottie Scheffler has won The Memorial Tournament, taking home the $4 million first-place prize. That means Scheffler has officially set a new single-season PGA Tour earnings record for the third straight year. 2022: $14 million 2023: $21 million 2024: $24 million Even crazier, there are still 3+ months left in the season. This guy is on an entirely different planet right now. #sports #linkedinsports #sportsbiz

🌟 Exciting News from Dallaglio RugbyWorks! 🏉 We are thrilled to share the remarkable outcomes from our 2022/23 Impact Report, underscoring the incredible strides made by our young people, dedicated staff, and supporters over the past academic year. Here are some key highlights: 👏 97% of young people enjoyed their sessions 💪 90% of our young people demonstrated either a good level or noticeable improvement in their physical fitness. 🧠 Beyond the physical benefits, our programme has contributed significantly to the mental resilience of our participants, with 83% reporting increased mental strength. 🌃 In a particularly noteworthy achievement, 100% of participants in our evening programme expressed greater enjoyment during these sessions compared to their usual evening activities. This positive shift is crucial, as evenings are identified as a vulnerable time when they might otherwise be susceptible to negative influences. 🎓 The ultimate measure of success – 87% of our young people were either in education, employment, or training at the age of 18. This speaks volumes about the long-term impact we are helping to achieve. These accomplishments wouldn't have been possible without the support of our incredible staff, partners, and the entire Dallaglio RugbyWorks community. Together, we are transforming the futures of these young people, instilling values that extend far beyond the rugby pitch. Please get in touch to find out how you could help us extend this impact even further for this academic year. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eHA6tJjQ

Check out this short video from Paul Seagar who talks about some of the work we've been doing with Auckland Rugby League!
📽 I made a video! Talk about getting out of your comfort zone. 🙈 🏉 It was time to spotlight some of the work Rally has done with Auckland Rugby League over the past few years. 📈 It's been really exciting to watch ARL become really curious about their player numbers. That curiosity is causing them to act on the insights that Rally has uncovered. ARL player numbers across all formats of the game are on the increase. We're really proud of the part we're playing in that. Working with Rebecca Russell and her excellent team that includes wonderfully passionate people like Kelly McKenzie, Viggo Rasmussen, Dionte Kang, Emma Walter and Louis Nel, CA is a real pleasure. Everyone's enthusiasm rubs off on the entire team. And like the game of Rugby League itself, it really is a team effort. 🚀 The results speak for themselves. 🚀

A child's finger near a father perhaps says: "Look, what a big game!" Marcus Smith slotted it for a slim win in final seconds. Danny Care got 100 caps. The mother of England rugby captain Jamie George recently died. Ireland played as Ireland do - a team, attitude and ethos that speaks to 'the art of the possible'. Up there. All of them & beyond. Like Gareth Southgate on the 'round' rather than 'oval' ball front, they walk like us all with ghosts of things past with recast stories of what was, what is today and what could and might be tomorrow. Jonny Wilkinson talked in today's post-match chat amid this evolving Six Nations series of moments when one is "looking for inspiration in life" and how in the 'game' one is often defined in a moment. That is the world we are in. It’s only #rugby, only a game, only 80 minutes, only #sport. As a #kiwi who has lived on this island for more time than I have lived in Aotearoa I get why the business of sport in and beyond rugby plays into various key narratives and marketing initiatives so heavily and so heavily into the global business of business. Teamwork, focus, delivering to plan, going faster, growing & having a belief that runs up to and through the / our final whistle. What’s not to like? Sometimes sport goes beyond a game. Sometimes moments in sport are metaphors for lives. Sometimes what one wins is not as important as how, why and when one wins. Sometimes little moments have a power to change things. That can matter in your world, this world, our world. As always, there is a support team helping players come alive on and off the field. Remember the support. It matters. Life – is sometimes a game, a story, a moment. No LinkedIn ‘so what do you think about this?’ here … Just sharing a moment ... from a moment ... #teamwork #sport #motivation #life #ENGvIRE England Rugby Carpe Diem

Wales and Ireland (Rugby Union) will never play each other in their traditional red/green colours again. It is great to see that World Rugby is implementing rule changes to help the viewing experience for colour blind supporters. However, I would urge teams that this will affect to consider the impact on performance of changes in colour. I am sure we all remember the disasterous grey kit worn by Manchester United back in 1996 (well, worn for half a game anyway). This has not stopped them from re-adopting a grey away kit in more recent years but what impact does it have on a players ability to spot their team-mates? I am a strong believer in making your players as visible as possible while on the pitch so this involves wearing kit of a high contrast to both the opponent, and surroundings. I also think that training in the same colours in the build-up to a match helps players 'tune in' to what they will be scanning for on game day. However, much of this is overlooked by big clubs in favour of kit that will sell well in the club shop, and training kit which makes a statement - presumably to also prompt fans to fork out their cash. There will always be conflict in sports between performance outcomes and money makers and kit colour will often be decided upon by those with a finance hat on. #colour #color #sixnations #ireland #wales #rugby #manchesterunited #siralexferguson #football #highperformance #performancevision #sportsvision #sportscience https://lnkd.in/e9AaR5S7
