JOHN RENKEN, CPD 🇺🇸 over at Sales Platoon with AllegiantVets was on the topic of nonverbals when I was reminded of a time I was a much fluffier private stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky. I always made a ritual of trying to stay as far away from my bathroom as possible (to my benefit and detriment.😂) One of the things I quickly realized just how much I loved interacting with the locals, I thought maybe it was just the novelty of being away from home and being in such a unique place. But then it occurred to me that there was something else to it, “southern hospitality” or soft skills were ingrained in the culture there. For example… Seller A: “The program is $40. You can go to our website and check it out for yourself.” Seller B: “Our program is $40, I’ll be more than happy to provide you a link and assist you if you have any questions.” Even if you prefer to check on your own, who are you more inclined to go to? As you’re out representing your company and brand, don’t be afraid to do it with a smile or go the extra mile for somebody, you could not only got a sale, but fix a bad day as well! #sales #softskills #transition #businessdevelopment
