When I recently uploaded this wedding video, it was immediately upgraded by YouTube to "18+ only". It's "Marketing the Rainbow" from last century. What do you think? The closing text says "Think before you commit yourself" - it's about a mobile telecom company. The joke is mwah, the quality is so "25 years ago" - but I think it has potential. https://lnkd.in/eD2BAJsK #MarketingTheRainbow #GayMarketing #LGBT #gayadvertising

I create spaces and platforms that amplify the voices of marginalized community members while partnering with tourism leaders to improve allyship through empathetic marketing and human connection. ❤️🌈🙌🏽
Yes, we’re the new kid on the block… We realize that there are dozens of tourism-focused conventions to choose from each year and we recognize that we’re the “new kid on the block”. So here are one dozen reasons to join the FLOCC this August 12-14th in Coral Gables: 1. Enjoy a safe space for conversations around LGBTQ+ tourism. 2. Gain sales strategies to attract diverse groups and travelers to your business/destination. 3. Showcase your brand/destination as inclusive to meeting planners, LGBTQ+ leaders, travel agents, and fellow tourism organizations. 4. Learn from LGBTQ+ and ally experts on a variety of tourism topics. 5. Increase tourism revenues in the LGBTQ+ group and sports arenas. 6. Understand how to create personalized, authentic experiences for LGBTQ+ travelers. 7. Get inside the minds of GenZ travelers, 22% of whom identify as LGBTQ+. 8. Hear from “Ripple Effect” leaders who have positively impacted inclusive tourism initiatives. 9. Connect with tourism leaders from around Florida who are dedicated to DEI and social inclusion initiatives. 10. Understand bias in digital marketing and AI as it relates to LGBTQ+ consumers. 11. Enjoy incredible and diverse entertainment from Miami and beyond! 12. Be inspired! Not convinced yet? Then watch this!

Today is International Day Person's with Disabilities, it's a good time to acknowledge as a Nation, Australia Ranks 21 of out 29 OECD countries in terms of employment rates for people with a disability. The theme this year is "United in action to rescue and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for, with, and by persons with disabilities". One of the 17 goals relates to work and economic growth, with a target for “full and productive employment and decent work” to be achieved for all women and men, including people with disabilities and young people, by 2030. Last week the House Select Committee Inquiry into Workforce Australia Employment Services released their final reports with some very sensible recommendations to improve the Disability employment system and sector, which is under substantial stress. If the recommendations get implemented, it would improve job seeker's lives dramatically. Rebuilding Employment Services – Parliament of Australia (aph.gov.au)

✨ How can we design our public spaces to be more inclusive of and safe for LGBTQ+ communities? ✨ As an LGBTQ+ ally, I've been part of an ongoing research project called Queering Public Space, a collaboration between @Arup and the @University of Westminster. Our research aims to: 🌈 Address the knowledge gap on how to deal with feelings of exclusion and vulnerability experienced by LGBTQ+ people in public space. 🌈 Create a dataset with other LGBTQ+ people that will support the delivery of safe, welcoming and equitable spaces for all. 🌈 Make sure that we understand and incorporate a more intersectionally diverse range of LGBTQ+ people in various parts of the world. ✨ So we need your help! ✨ We have created an online survey, which consists of two-parts: - The first part asks about your perception of safe and inclusive spaces, as well as your preferences of public spaces. So that we can analyse inclusion through an intersectional lens, we will also collect anonymised demographic information. - The second part are six 360° environments where you can listen and pan around a public space. By double clicking on a spot on the environment, you will be able to leave comments about the space. https://lnkd.in/gDbeayyA Please note that all responses will be anonymised and that the survey complies with GDPR and data privacy regulations. Any questions on this exciting project, please feel free to reach out to me or any of my colleagues Mei-Yee Man Oram and Luke Evens And if you're interested, please read our research reports here: https://lnkd.in/gSDC2Kt2 https://lnkd.in/gym6hsYC

Black women in the workplace — especially in the executive suite — are frequently misunderstood and subject to microaggressions based on biases and assumptions. Studies such as a recent Harvard Business Review report tell us that Black women are more likely to be thought of as “angry” and “aggressive” when they assert themselves at work, a stereotype that has persisted for years. Navigating these hostile workplace cultures can make it difficult to rise through the ranks, even when qualified, and contribute to higher rates of BIPOC women leaving their jobs. Employment attorney and author Chiquita Hall-Jackson has spent years studying this phenomenon and coaching other women of color in toxic organizations. She’s outspoken about the mistreatment and unfair treatment present in these organizations, and advocates for women fighting back against microaggressions without compromising their authentic selves. Here, she discusses the problem, the options, and how to change our cultures: #BIPOCExecutives #BlackWomenInBusiness #BlackWomenAtWork #BlackWomenExecutives

UK-based queer collective Big Dyke Energy has launched a fundraiser to preserve the country's LGBTQ+ nightlife scene and keep queer raves alive. The 'Save Our Spaces' campaign aims to raise £10,000 initially, with funds set to provide grants for struggling clubs and event organisers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort towards safeguarding diverse nightlife offerings, these monies will help ensure continued access for all those within the LGBTQ+ community who have relied on such spaces as sanctuaries of self-expression. According to BDE member Shiloh Dobie: "Underfunded nighttime economies risk losing more than just dancefloors; they risk dismantling hotbeds for progressive social change." The initiative reflects a broader trend of grassroot efforts targeted at protecting marginalised sectors within hospitality from financial crisis due to measures against COVID-19 spread. As we continue navigating this challenging period together, let’s instigate more discussions about aiding our global hospitality industry. Facing similar challenges or want support in your course? Feel free to direct message us or schedule a zoom chat.
