OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR)’s Post

Systemic problems in the lawmaking process often result in flawed laws. ODIHR works with countries across the OSCE region to help improve their lawmaking processes based on key principles of democratic lawmaking. This week, we hosted Ukrainian parliament and government officials as well as leading legal experts from across Europe in Warsaw to discuss how the rule of law and human rights principles can be integrated at each stage of the legislative cycle to help make high-quality laws. We thank our partners Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) and USAID for co-organizing this workshop.   Check out our Guidelines on Democratic Lawmaking for Better Laws, available in English, Russian and Ukrainian: https://lnkd.in/gZpHbb2G
