Do you think Gen Z are less likely to become teachers than their older counterparts? 🤔 Research from Teach First suggested that over three fifths of Gen Z would consider working as a teacher, but nearly half (47 per cent) said they would enjoy teaching for a few years, but not their whole career. To encourage Gen Z to become teachers, Teach First set out a series of recommendations. This includes setting up a new system of formal secondments for existing teachers to spend some time out of the classroom in other sectors, before returning with new skills, enthusiasm and energy. 🔗 to full story down below. #education #teaching https://lnkd.in/e7f92pNJ

Imagine a world where teachers can truly connect with their students, one-on-one, without the constraints of a traditional classroom. At Cicero Learning, we make this a reality for homeschoolers, worldschoolers, and students leaving traditional schools. We are on the lookout for passionate teachers with 3-5 years of experience in primary, middle, and high school, as well as those who have taught at the university or college level. These educators are seeking a change, eager to work remotely, design their own schedules, and break free from school restrictions. They thrive in a one-to-one learning environment, where they can build strong relationships and tailor the curriculum to each student's needs. Unlike typical tutoring, our teachers create personalized courses, engaging with students over an entire term or year. This approach allows for creativity and a rewarding teaching experience, as teachers witness their students' growth firsthand. E-learning is transforming education, offering flexibility and personalization that traditional classrooms often lack. Join us in this educational journey and help shape the future of learning. We invite you to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. #Elearning #PersonalizedEducation #TeachingInnovation

Whether it be the lack of face-time with instructors and other students or the sense of isolation #onlinelearners experience, your online students struggle more than those in face-to-face courses — and part of the reason is attributed to the loss of natural interaction and community they would experience in an on-campus lab. 💪Don’t underestimate the power of building community. 💡When a class becomes a community, students change from being passive learners to active learners. 💡Building community also changes the class experience from impersonal to personal. And a hefty amount of educational research highlights the benefits of #collaborativelearning and community building 💡A national study of more than 80,000 first-year and senior college students found that participating in a learning community, where a group of students takes multiple classes together, was associated with higher levels of #studentengagement, satisfaction and #learningoutcomes. When students feel they belong to a class community, they are more likely to be motivated to complete class work, feel safe enough to ask questions or for more help, and be open to feedback that can help them improve. Here are some tips to help you enable community in your #onlinecourse

An interesting thing I learned throughout the course of my student teaching and overall experience throughout the years is this: Every second of the school day is valuable. Every interaction, every moment with an individual student or group, and every impression you leave is meaningful. Whether it's doing a quick re-teaching of a concept during the last three minutes of the day with a student, highlighting important moments throughout the day, or simply allowing a child to tell you about their day or future plans, there are innumerable ways you can utilize extra minutes or seconds while you're able to connect in-person with children in your learning environment. Simply ignoring everything for a few minutes throughout the course of each day isn't something I'm familiar with, but I can imagine even a few minutes a day of doing this adds up to hours (or even school-days) of wasted time by the end of the year. There is plenty of time to rest later. There is plenty of time to plan later. There is plenty of time to chat with co-workers later. Let's all make the biggest possible impact we can make academically, developmentally, and personally for every single student we are privileged to work with each and every day, so we can look back as educators (and human beings) with no regrets, knowing we gave it our very best for all students. 😃
