The digital shift in healthcare has advanced many aspects of cardiac care, including how cardiologists monitor patients beyond the office walls. Innovative technology such as remote patient monitoring (RPM) has become an integral tool for managing the health of individuals with heart disease, enabling providers to continuously track and analyze critical health data from patients in real time. This continuous flow of health information enables more prompt detection of irregularities, allowing clinicians to assess treatments and make more informed clinical decisions. Additionally, RPM fosters more timely interventions and reduces the need for frequent in-person visits. This not only enhances patient convenience but also ensures a more comprehensive and personalized approach to managing heart health. Take a deeper dive into the benefits of RPM for patients, some of the challenges, and best practices for implementation in our e-book, Remote Patient Monitoring in Cardiology, and find out if RPM is right for your practice. #heartmonth #rpm #remotepatientmonitoring #patientmonitoring #betteroutcomes #connectedcare

Jippe Balt and the cardiology team at Sint Antonius Hospital have accomplished an impressive feat by scaling and pioneering Remote Patient Monitoring post-ablation program to over 1000+ patients using Happitech and Luscii AF monitoring solution. Their efforts have yielded excellent results thus far: Empowered patients: Feedback from the St Antonius Hospital patient forum suggests that patients feel more in control of their day-to-day health whilst still cared for by their cardiology team. Reduced outpatient appointments: Enabling hardware-free, remote heart rhythm detection and monitoring at home via smartphone eliminated the need for patients to visit a clinic or hospital for an ECG. Reduced cardiology team workload: e-nurses can monitor multiple post-AF ablation patients via the Luscii dashboard. Cardiologist contact and the need to visit outpatient clinics have significantly decreased with no detriment to patient safety. Increased service capacity: The cardiology team can perform 5 AF ablations per day. This could be increased further. Critical to this is the ability for patients to monitor their heart rhythm from home rather than having to visit an outpatient clinic for an ECG. Download the full case study online.
