I often get the question - how do you make time to volunteer? How do you do it all? Volunteering shouldn’t be a job or an obligation - you should volunteer because you want to better the lives of others. It doesn’t take much - start with one day a month. Volunteer commitments normally only take a few hours…can you 2-4 hours out of your month to give back? Walk in the Park: Dog Distraction Class It’s a different kind of walk in the park at See Differently’s weekly dog distraction classes for our pups in training. At these sessions, volunteers guide the pups through various exercises designed to help them stay focused (despite lots of tempting distractions like other dogs, toys, and people). Sofie and Bree from the puppy team lead the class with lots of tips and tricks to keep the students on the right track! Teaching our dogs these skills early on is essential for them to become well-trained and reliable companions. We're looking for more volunteers to help raise and train our next generation of See Differently guide or assistance dogs. We have various volunteering opportunities to suit everyone. Teamwork makes the dream work! It’s amazing how bringing in the right person at the right time can drive immediate and broad positive impact on an organization (and our community). 🙌🏻 Sarah Golman In talking with a community stakeholder this week, he shared his goal of creating lifelong employment opportunities for A+ talent in the Dallas Jewish nonprofit community. Nonprofit work is rooted in the “soft stuff” like heart, mission alignment, and compassion. Taking this role after a 15 year career in financial services, I thought I was already prepared for the “tough stuff” but I have never worked with a team so open to big change, focused on driving positive results for our stakeholders, and relentless about collaborating across the community to bring deep impact and support for those who need it most. Yes, it takes a big heart to bring your A+ game to this sector - but it requires grit, intellect, and determination, too. To attract and retain top talent, it demands investment. If you’re a donor or a board member of a nonprofit organization, consider endowing resources to fund the costliest roles in the agency you love. Similar to endowing a chair at a university, this creates operational flexibility and ensures that the organization can attract A+ talent no matter what’s going on in the market and environment around you. To my fellow nonprofit sector friends: how are you attracting and retaining A+ talent?? ⤵️
COO APPRECIATION POST: Not even 90 days into her role, Sarah Golman has hit the ground running! When she’s not knee deep in negotiations with our construction project partners (we’re moving in March!), she’s building out processes and formalizing procedures, planning team building events (we are so excited about Gardenuity) and making sure our trustees, donors, and nonprofit agency partners are maximizing their impact on our community (she wrote our first ever impact report, and has been a critical partner in numerous new programs). On top of all that, she’s a super mom, community volunteer, and wife to Brett Golman. Hats off to Sarah!! We 💙 you!

re: A small glimpse of our work from the frontlines of philanthropy For the last quarter-century, we've been right there with you, working on the frontlines of philanthropy. It's been an incredible journey, and it's shown us something truly remarkable: when philanthropy and brand unite, magic happens. When tearing down those old barriers and joining forces, the results are nothing short of spectacular. We have experienced firsthand this formidable partnership creating massive waves of fundraising and awareness that have propelled missions forward. These mission-moving results would not be possible without program participants and their families who courageously shared their stories and generously granted permission to us to share them. Some of the visuals and messaging in our body of work may evoke strong emotional reactions or discomfort for some viewers. If you feel that you might be affected by such content, we recommend proceeding with caution or choosing to view our work at a time when you feel more prepared. 👉 Take a look at a tiny cross-section of our work: https://bit.ly/3Ymt9KE
