#snsinstitution #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking blood donation camp If you’re donating whole blood, we’ll cleanse an area on your arm and insert a brand new sterile needle for the blood draw. (This feels like a quick pinch and is over in seconds.)Other types of donations, such as platelets, are made using an apheresis machine which will be connected to both arms.A whole blood donation takes about 8-10 minutes, during which you’ll be seated comfortably or lying down. When approximately a pint of whole blood has been collected, the donation is complete and a staff person will place a bandage on your arm.For platelets, the apheresis machine will collect a small amount of blood, remove the platelets, and return the rest of the blood through your other arm; this cycle will be repeated several times over about 2 hours. After donating blood, you’ll have a snack and something to drink in the refreshment area. You’ll leave after 10-15 minutes and continue your normal routine.Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment knowing you are helping to save lives.Take a selfie, or simply share your good deed with friends. It may inspire them to become blood donors.

"Every day, thousands of people depend on the kindness and generosity of blood donors to survive. For many, a simple blood donation can mean the difference between life and death. Today, on World Blood Donor Day, I want to share a remarkable story that illustrates the power of blood donation to create miracles, and to inspire each of you to consider giving the gift of life through donation." "The Miracle of Donation": A mother named Maya gave birth to her baby prematurely. The baby was born with a rare blood disorder and needed regular blood transfusions to survive. But due to the baby's rare blood type, finding compatible blood was a challenge. That's when Maya's husband, a first-time blood donor, was found to be a perfect match, and he donated his blood to save their child. Their story illustrates the power of blood donation to create miracles. So when you donate blood, you're not just saving a life, you're also saving a family, a community, a future. The power of your donation ripples out into the world, creating a wave of hope and healing. Today, let's ride that wave together. Let's honor those who have donated blood in the past, and let's commit to giving blood ourselves to ensure that there will always be enough blood for those who need it. 🥳Happy World Blood Donor Day🩸🥳 #GiveBloodSaveLives #WorldBloodDonorDay #Maternalandchildhealthadvocate #FOMABFoundation

At Vocal Cybridge, we recognize the critical importance of blood donation. Today, on World Blood Donor Day, we honor all the selfless donors whose generosity saves lives every day. Here are a few reasons why your donation matters: 1) Every Drop Counts: One donation can save up to three lives. 2) Ongoing Need: Blood has a limited shelf life, so the supply must be continually replenished. 3)Community Support: Donating blood helps ensure a stable supply for your community and beyond. MYTH: Living donors must be related to the patient they’re donating to. FACT: Anyone can become a living donor whether you’re a relative, friend, or stranger! Living donors can help save lives by gifting a kidney, a portion of the liver, or even a portion of their pancreas, lungs, or intestine. "Each drop given isn't just blood; it's hope in liquid form, a lifeline for someone in need, perhaps even a thalassemia patient hoping for another chance at life. Imagining it coursing through their veins, revitalizing their body, infuses with a sense of purpose like no other. It's a profound reminder that heroes don't always wear capes; sometimes, they simply roll up their sleeves and donate, offering a piece of themselves to save another. After blood donation, walking away from the donation center carries with a feeling of lightness, not just physically but also spiritually, knowing a tangible difference made in someone's life." But the act of donation doesn't end there. It's essential to take care of oneself afterward. Remember to take it easy for the rest of the day, allowing the body to recover fully. Listen to its cues, avoiding heavy lifting or strenuous activities. Replenish the body with plenty of fluids and nutritious food, nurturing it back to its full strength. And as this is done, keep in mind the impact of the donation, not just on the recipient but on their loved ones, on their community, on the world at large. Let's keep this life-giving legacy flowing, one drop at a time, knowing that each donation is a beacon of hope for someone in need. #BloodDonation #ThalassemiaHeroes #LiquidHope #DonateLife #SpreadLove #BloodDonorsAreHeroes
