Thank you Layla Nicholson and The Daily Star for covering my concerns surrounding deepfake non consensual imagery following the recent Parliamentary round table on the issue! Previously, we could watch a video and take it as proof that something did or did not happen. Now, when that medium of 'truth' is so easily manipulated, it will be almost impossible to tell what’s real from what’s fake. Victim-blaming will become even more frequent, and using our voices on the whole will become even scarier, especially in moments of crisis. The public has an overwhelming interest in regulating the safety protocols and practices of AI companies.
