When you have a designer or researcher on your team you get access to a whole army of them – assuming they’re part of a professional community of practice. 🤝 What’s a community of practice? It’s a group of people from the same design discipline who get together regularly to support each other, share ideas, and exchange knowledge. At Sparck, we’ve got practices for: • content design • product design • service design • user research And when Sparckies are on project we encourage them to participate in client communities of practice, too. That means if you work with Sparck/BJSS and have, say, a service design consultant working on your product or service, you get a whole lot of extra value on the side. They’ll contribute to your wider organisational goals, helping to solve problems outside the work they’re contracted to do. They’ll also help build the capability of your in-house designers, bringing fresh perspectives and unique experience. And if the project they’re on hits a blockage, security and confidentiality permitting, they can bring the problem back to their colleagues at Sparck. Very excited to say I am now part of the @CreativeID community! A really interesting 3 week programme that help me understand how I AM creative and also to equip me with the tools and research of how to help others understand HOW THEY ARE creative. It’s not binary. This is important to me and the work that I do as all too often we have “creative” design teams, and “everyone else”. Well we are all creative it in different ways!
