🎊Andrea Todd, Vice President of Commercial Lines, is celebrating her 20-year work anniversary with Paquin & Carroll Insurance! We sat down with her recently to catch up and get to know her better. Q: Hi Andrea, and congratulations on your 20th anniversary! What background did you have when you first began at P&C Insurance? A: After many years of experience working as an independent insurance agent, I transitioned to the company side of the business as a Personal Lines Underwriter for One Beacon Insurance. One of the owners of Paquin & Carroll came to me and said “Hey, you should come work for us!” He created a Marketing position in the Commercial Lines department. Having no knowledge of Commercial Lines made the opportunity challenging, while at the same time it offered me the perfect opportunity to work 3 days a week while raising my young son👦 Q: What are some of the positions that you have held at P&C over the years? A: Originally hired to market commercial lines accounts for clients at the agency, I soon transitioned to an Account Executive where I was selling and servicing insurance products. Within a few years of working full time I became part of the leadership team for the agency as Vice President. Q: Are there any special memories that you will always hold dear? A: Paquin & Carroll is like family to me! We’ve been through retirements, weddings, births and unfortunately death. When I lost my mom along with other losses, my co-workers (family) were there to help comfort me during difficult times. Recently my son got married and I was ecstatic to be able to share the experience with my team through photos🤵👰 Q: What have you enjoyed the most about your position? A: Helping my clients through challenging times along with being a facilitator by nature has certainly helped continue the long lasting relationships I’ve built throughout the years. Nothing is more gratifying than knowing that you’ve put your client back to whole after they’ve experienced a claim situation. Having the correct insurance coverage for that client/business is what drives me on a daily basis. Q: Any words of advice to new employees? A: Working in Insurance has been a wonderful career for me. Educate yourself by taking courses and learning as much as you can about insurance. Knowledge is power and the more you learn the more you will definitely succeed in the profession and life itself👍 Q: What are some of your interests outside of work? A: I enjoy baking! Right now if I didn’t love working in insurance I’d own a bakery. Living on Sebago Lake I enjoy floating, jet-skiing and spending time with my family and new daughter-in-law. When not baking, I’m either knitting or crocheting as I love being creative. My friends look to me when they need inspiration!🧁 We would like to thank Andrea for her outstanding commitment to our customers over the years, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!📅 #InsurancePC #ItsAMutualThing #WorkAnniversary

When Vice President of Employee Benefits Dan Cote unwinds from his busy schedule, you'll likely find him perfecting his swing on the golf course, strategizing over a game of cribbage, or driving his cherry-red Ford truck through the streets of town ☀️🚗 Dan inherited this remarkable vehicle from his lifelong friend, Craig, whom he had known since he was five years old. Sadly, Craig passed away in 2019. Craig had an unspoken assurance that Dan would take care of his prized truck should anything ever happen to him. And so, the license plate "CRA 51F" not only honors Craig but also denotes the model year of the truck—a '51 Ford, a nod to Craig's enthusiasm for classic vehicles. Every time Dan slides into the driver's seat and starts the engine, he's enveloped in memories of Craig. Whether it's a solo trip filled with reflection or a quick drive to grab ice cream with his wife and daughter under the summer sun, people will often stop and compliment Dan’s truck. For Dan, it’s an opportunity to talk to others about his best friend and keep Craig’s memory alive ❤️ #ItsAMutualThing #EmployeeSpotlight #PCInsurance

Ever caught yourself humming along to Meatloaf’s “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights” without giving a second thought to what those dashboard lights actually mean? 🚗💡 Well, unlike the song's backdrop for auto romance, in real life, they're critical for your vehicle's health and your safety. If you're feeling overwhelmed with all the symbols and colors flashing at you from the dash, here's a brief guide to seven crucial dashboard warning lights that could save you from potential danger on the roads: 🔵 Green/Blue Lights: All good! Features like cruise control or headlights are activated. 🟡 Yellow/Amber Lights: Caution! Time for some maintenance, like engaging traction control or checking tire pressure. 🔴 Red Warning Lights: Danger! This indicates serious issues like engine or transmission problems. Specific Warning Lights to Watch Out For: Check Engine: Serious or minor, don't ignore it. Visit a mechanic if the light stays on. Engine Coolant: Overheating? Let your car cool down safely and get assistance. Oil Pressure: Could be low oil or something worse. Check the dipstick and consult a mechanic. Battery Alert: Charging system issue. Get your battery checked or replaced as needed. Tire Pressure Monitor: Keep those tires inflated correctly for safe driving and fuel efficiency. Brake System: Not just for when the parking brake is on – it could indicate bigger brake problems. Reduced Engine Power: Problems with air/fuel flow need a pro's diagnosis. Remember, your Owner’s Manual is your best friend for a comprehensive understanding of your car's alerts and maintaining your ride 📘 #CarMaintenance #DashboardLights #VehicleSafety #AutoCareTips #ItsAMutualThing
