HR Shaping the New Future - Out in BusinessDay! We cannot manage people today with the approach, tools, and ways we managed them in the past. Why? Simply put, CHANGE. Times have changed. People too. How people view work has changed; how people view their relationship with work has changed; and, most importantly, how people place work in their lives has changed. Employers, people managers, and people leaders need to recognise these changes and adapt accordingly. I wrote this article, with Folu Richards, in commemoration of #InternationalHRDay, today. It’s time for a rethink on how we shape the new future of work. Read more at: https://bit.ly/BDHRShape

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL HR DAY This year's theme, "HR Shaping the New Future," reflects the critical role HR plays in navigating the dynamic world of work. The theme delves into four key sub-themes that will define the future of HR: • Ethical use of Technology and AI: The rapid advancement of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges for HR. HR professionals need to be at the forefront of ensuring ethical implementation of these technologies in areas like recruitment, performance management, and employee well-being. • Innovation in Skills and Education: The pace of technological change necessitates a constant effort to upskill and reskill the workforce. HR needs to create a culture of learning within the organisation, provide employees with opportunities for professional development, and anticipate future skill demands to maintain a competitive edge. • Future Workplaces: The concept of work is continuously evolving. HR needs to adapt to new work models like remote work, hybrid teams, and the gig economy. This includes developing policies and practices that support flexible work arrangements, foster collaboration across geographical boundaries, and attract talent in a globalised marketplace. • People Leadership: Strong and empathetic leadership is crucial in today's complex work environment. HR can play a vital role in developing leadership skills amongst managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and promoting diversity and inclusion at all levels. I specially commend all HR professionals for their commitment to creating a happy workplace. Happy International HR day to us all 💼

The Essence of Clarity in the HR Role: Focusing on What Truly Matters In a world brimming with tasks and to-dos, it's easy for HR professionals to become ensnared in the minutiae of daily activities. Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing. #PeopleFirst The central core principle in people oriented profession isn't found in checklists or in the relentless ticking of the clock—it's in the human aspect, the connections, and the growth we foster. We're tasked with a mission far more profound than merely managing resources; we're here to uplift, to guide, and to illuminate pathways for development and fulfillment. Yet, how often do we find ourselves sidetracked, lost in the waves of administrative tasks, forgetting the shore we're meant to guide our people to? It's a moment like this that the mantra "Less is More" rings true. By doing less, we achieve more—more depth, more growth, more impactful interactions that resonate with the core of HR: supporting our people. Be There. Be present. Not just as a figure, but as a beacon of support. Balance is not just a concept; it's the very essence of our roles—Balance is Wholeness. Are you ready to recalibrate, to place focus back on what matters, and to truly Elevate HR? Our upcoming event is more than a workshop; it's a commitment to the heart of HR. It's a pledge to keep the main thing the main thing: the people, their growth, and the transformative power of human support. Join us at HR Elevate, where we'll strip away the superfluous and dive deep into the real essence of HR. It's time to rekindle the main flame of our profession and, in doing so, ignite the potential in every individual we serve. 📅 April 10, 2024 🔗 [https://bit.ly/3ImcLAv] Let's make a pledge, together, to not just do more, but to be more—for our people, for our organizations, and for the future of HR. #ElevateHR #HRLeadership #KeepTheMainThingTheMainThing #PeopleFirst #HRTransformation #SupportAndGrowth #HRDevelopment #Empowerment

As HR professionals, we're often the bridge between the organization's goals and the employees' needs. It's a delicate balancing act, but one that's incredibly rewarding. Today, I had a moment of reflection and wanted to share a thought: the true essence of HR goes beyond policies, recruitment, and payroll. It's about fostering an environment where people feel valued, heard, and empowered to bring their best selves to work every day. Here are a few principles I strive to embody in my HR journey: *Empathy is Key: Understanding employees' perspectives and challenges helps in creating a supportive and inclusive workplace. *Continuous Learning: The HR landscape is always evolving. Keeping up with the latest trends and best practices ensures we stay ahead in fostering a thriving work culture. *Open Communication: Encouraging transparency and open dialogue builds trust and strengthens team cohesion. *Recognition Matters: Acknowledging and celebrating achievements, big or small, boosts morale and motivation. Remember, a happy and engaged workforce is the backbone of any successful organization. Let’s continue to champion a positive work culture and make a difference, one employee at a time. #HR #HumanResources #WorkCulture #EmployeeEngagement #Leadership #HRThoughts
