Happy International Women in Engineering Day to all the smart and hardworking women engineers! Project Engineer Tania Bobby has worked in the field for over four years. "It can feel intimidating for those interested in engineering to explore this amazing career because women may think it's not for them since they don’t see enough representation," she says. "Women in Engineering Day showcases and celebrates women in engineering and their contributions and highlights the importance of #diversity in a field that thrives on diverse ideas and creative solutions to today’s problems," she explains. "This event creates a space for conversation between those considering engineering and current engineers they can relate to on a more personal level. Having that kind of representation makes the idea of becoming an #engineer feel attainable. Creating that atmosphere and providing that encouragement is why I believe “Women in Engineering Day” is important," she states. #WomenInEngineering #WomenEngineers Read more about how our engineers help others in their projects: https://ow.ly/1iGq50Sb3zC

Today marks International Women in Engineering Day and as always we at FCC want to celebrate it by continuing to raise awareness within the industry. International Women in Engineering Day is run by the UK charity Women’s Engineering Society. This year’s theme is #Enhancedbyengineering and WES are celebrating the amazing work that women engineers around the world are doing to support lives and livelihoods every day. INWED gives women engineers around the world a profile when they are still hugely under-represented, with 2021 figures indicating that in the UK only 16.5% of engineers are women. As the only platform of its kind, it plays a vital role in encouraging more young women and girls to take up engineering careers. With that being said, let us remember our very own trailblazing women who have shaped the FCC engineering world and continue to inspire the next generation of female engineers by reading their inspiring case studies. Engineering takes innovative, analytical and problem-solving capabilities. To do this work, you’ve got to be determined, yet flexible; detail-oriented, yet big-pictured; and above all, wicked smart. That is why we’re celebrating the women behind this historically male-dominated career path – the ones showing there’s room for everyone at the table to roll up their sleeves, sharpen their pencils and help make our built environment a reality. For International Women in Engineering Day, Sunday, June 23, we celebrate them, us and all who will be; because ‘engineer’ translates to ‘doer’ – and we’ve got the ladies to prove that. #DCIEngineers #INWED25 #Engineering #DCIisMe #StructuralEngineering #StructuralEngineers #WomenInEngineering

Breaking the Mould: The Importance of Women in Engineering 👷♀️ As we celebrate the achievements of women in engineering, it's essential to acknowledge the significant underrepresentation of women in this field. According to the UK's Engineering Council, in 2020, only 12.5% of the engineering workforce in the UK were female, compared to 45.2% in the overall workforce. Despite these numbers, women engineers are making a significant impact in the industry. They're driving innovation, solving complex problems, and pushing boundaries. But we need more of them. To highlight their achievements and inspire future generations, we launched our #ShesAnEngineer campaign. Join us as we share stories of trailblazing women engineers who have shattered stereotypes and overcome challenges to succeed in their careers. By amplifying their voices and celebrating their accomplishments, we hope to inspire more women to pursue careers in engineering and create a more inclusive and diverse industry. Learn more about our #ShesAnEngineer campaign and discover the incredible stories of women engineers who are making a difference: https://lnkd.in/gKra7z4A #ShesanEngineer #WomenInEngineering #WomenInSTEM
