When I started my fellowship at the Wisconsin PGA, I did not realize how much of a rewarding experience it would be. I have had the opportunity to be fully immersed in a Section's Operations and have learned so much from this experience. As a fellow, I have had the pleasure of writing an article for pga.com! Very interesting read. Still see some parallels from 1967 to today.
Looking back to the May 1967 issue of Golfdom, a Minnesota superintendent shares his thoughts on the “golf course superintendent supply squeeze.” 👇🏻

I Partner With CEOs & CFOs To Deploy Top-Tier Interim Accounting and Finance Consultants Who Boost Profitability Via The Pinnacle Difference
2nd year competing. 2nd year getting 2nd place, in flight 2. That's quite a mouthful... This past weekend, Mark Borlin and I competed in the Silver Lake CC Member Guest and came up short. It was a hard-fought weekend where every match mattered. It turns out only a few putts were the difference between us winning our flight and going on into the championship march. In sports and in life, the details matter. Small decisions add up and end up making huge impacts. It might not feel important but pay attention to the small choices you make. Each one affects the direction you're going and where you'll be 20 years from now. #growth #competition #accountingandfinance

ATHLETE FIRST, ROWER SECOND is one of my primary messages as a rowing coach. Developing an athletic foundation that can help rowers not only perform at a high level, but more importantly, withstand the demands that a grind sport like rowing requires, will always be our priority. High school coaches can do a lot to minimize the risk of injury, improve athletic development, and set their athletes up for four year success at the college level with a little more emphasis on “building the entire athlete”. Incorporating strength & resistance training, mobility/flexibility, athletic drills or other training modalities to introduce the athletes to what their body is capable of. These are the conversations I love having, as we continue to evolve this sport and set athletes up for long term success. We are just getting started. June session is almost full… checkout 3 reasons why I love the The Grizzly Golf and Social Lodge Swing & Sip Beginner Series. 1. The golf pros! It makes a huge impact when your golf instructors are not only knowledgeable but also engaging, positive and encouraging! 2. This program is an incredible value for all the aspects that it covers- full swing, chipping, putting and on-course instruction 3. Community and support that you get by being part of a group of people relatively new to the game - you have built in cheerleaders and this makes a big difference especially when you’re starting out. Celebrate the wins together- big and small! Bonus- you get 2 drink tickets each week. Put those drinks on ice and bring them with you for the lessons. Then sit on the patio and chat with the girls after formal instruction. https://lnkd.in/esMj_54J Questions? Drop a comment or send a message! “The more skilled you become seeing things for what they are, the more perception will work for you rather than against you.” Last week I played one of my favorite golf courses, TPC at Deere Run. It always offers a challenge. I’ve only left there once satisfied with my score. Last Wednesday was not one of those occasions. As I reflected on the round, the score didn’t match how well I performed in various parts of my game. * I hit 10/14 (71%) fairways and only one of the fairways I missed was a poor shot. The others were all just fine. * My newly found carry distance with my irons held true. * I hit the lines I intended on all putts (shoutout to Hanna Golf) except 3 and those were simply terrible strokes. * I hit 4 shots exactly as I imagined (that doesn’t sound like much, but even the great Ben Hogan was satisfied with maybe 5 shots a round). All the different components just didn’t come together the way I desired to produce a great score. I still left the course with more confidence than with which I arrived. We have a choice with how we view events and outcomes. At minimum, if events don’t go as planned on the course, I was fortunate to be able to play golf. The same holds for work, at least I am blessed to have work to do, a way to earn a living. How will you choose to perceive this week?

The competitive advantage of grit in golf goes beyond mere principles—it's a defining factor that sets true champions apart. In a sport where precision and integrity reign supreme, every stroke matters, and every decision reflects a commitment to excellence. The Alonso Esquivel School of Golf embodies these values, teaching students that success stems from honesty, grit, and respect for tradition. By embracing these principles, students not only hone their technical skills but also cultivate the mindset of a champion. In golf, as in life, grit is the ultimate advantage that paves the way for greatness. #usga #pga #golf #alonsoesquivel 🏌🏾🎶

Every year, The Masters captivates audiences with its tradition, drama, and world-class competition. But what skills do players need to conquer Augusta National, one of golf's most challenging courses? ✔️ Mastering the Mental Game: The pressure at The Masters is immense. Players need exceptional focus, composure, and belief to navigate the demanding course and handle the high stakes. ✔️ Precision with Long Irons: Augusta National features many long par 3s and tight fairways. Accurate long iron play is crucial for finding greens in regulation and avoiding bogeys. ✔️ Short Game Wizardry: Delicate chips, precise putting, and bunker escapes are essential around Augusta National's fast greens and tricky slopes. Mastering the short game can save strokes and win tournaments. ✔️ Playing the Angles: Augusta National is known for its strategic layout. Understanding how to play each hole with creativity and course knowledge is key to success. Beyond these, strong fundamentals in grip, posture, and swing mechanics are the foundation for all golfers.
