It's been a fun week as Linny the Lineman shared the message of "Play it Safe this Summer" at the Hampton County Recreation Center. Safety is a top priority at Palmetto Electric Cooperative, and we are committed to teaching the community about the benefits and dangers of electricity, all while having lots of fun! ⚡️🐢

A great system to help extinguish electric vehicle fires.
I had the opportunity to be in a booth next to two wonderful guys from Jersey City, NJ for 3 days at VFRC. Howard “Buddy” Hayes is a captain with Jersey City, NJ and he designed the Turtle Nozzle for EV fires and it can also be used for other types of fires as well. Buddy has a patent on it too!. Matthew Faden also works for Jersey City and he is the greatest salesman and promoter for the product. The product is union designed and made in the USA. They are both members of IAFF Locals 1066 and 1064. I admire ingenuity and wanted to give them a plug. FYI Matt will be in Maryland on March 8. It also looks like the product will be at College Park VFD. I am attaching a video take a look at this amazing nozzle and now you know how to contact them!

Not only do they make managing payroll super simple, but their CEO Josh Reeves has been an invaluable mentor and board member to Red Bridge over the last five years of our startup journey. Check out this short film about Red Bridge and how we work with Gusto!
Back in 5th grade, Orly Friedman had a dream: To create a magical school for kids. 🧚🎓 She fulfilled that dream by founding Red Bridge, a non-traditional school that empowers students with ownership over their learning. With Gusto’s support, Red Bridge has grown from 12 students and 4 staff to 40 students and 11 staff and counting. Watch the full video to see how Red Bridge thrives with Gusto.

Did you know Gareth used to work on the tools, one of his favourite past times was Gritting..... We came across this article by BBC newsround, what’s your favourite gritter name? Ours is Walter the Salter: https://lnkd.in/e9jySb3N ❄️ Why Gritting Matters: As winter approaches, the need for gritting roads becomes crucial. Gritting, or salting, is a preventive measure to combat icy conditions on roads and pathways. 🚗 Road Safety: Gritting plays a vital role in ensuring safe travel during icy weather. It helps prevent accidents by reducing the likelihood of slippery surfaces and black ice. Keeping roads clear and safe is a collective effort to protect commuters and promote safer driving conditions. 👷♂️ Community Well-being: Beyond road safety, it enables people to go about their daily activities without disruptions, ensuring that essential services, like emergency response and public transportation, can continue to operate smoothly. Just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the unsung heroes of winter – the road gritters! 🙌🏽❄️ #trafficmanagement #gritting #safety

City of Littleton, welcome to Urban SDK! The city currently has a five-step traffic calming process of: 1) Citizen Complaint / Call to Action 2) Information Gathering 3) Temporary, Pop-Up Solution 4) Pilot Projects 5) Construction of Permanent Implementation As part of the information gathering, officials will typically lay down hard-count tubes for around 48-hours. Urban SDK will enable more robust gathering of data, most especially when snowy roadways could not previously be counted. Further, Urban SDK's traffic calming software will enable officials to quickly determine if areas of vulnerability fall within the city's traffic calming criteria, which will then decide whether a temporary or permanent traffic calming solution will be implemented. #ss4a #visionzero #govtech #trafficmanagement #cloudsoftware #publicsafety
We're proud to announce our newest partnership with the City of Littleton, Colorado, as they further their commitment to data-driven decision making with their traffic calming program. Exciting times ahead! 🌟 https://hubs.la/Q02kqW6K0
