Hi everyone, we hope you are enjoying hearing about our people and roles at Pan Macmillan as part of #workinpublishing week. Today we hear from Andy Joannou, our Head of Digital Marketing: What does your job entail? Connecting readers with books they’ll (hopefully!) love, through social media and other paid avenues, and championing the power and benefits of reading. What made you choose a career in publishing? Honestly, I came from magazines and thought it wouldn't be too different - I was SO wrong! I loved the idea of combining a passion for reading with a job. What three words would you use to describe your job? Creative. Collaborative. Educational. What’s the best thing about working in publishing? I would say the best thing about working in publishing is that it offers continuous learning. No one book is the same, and being able to escape into so many different worlds and trying to find the right readers for those worlds is so exciting. Andy was my first ever Line Manager when I entered the #Publishing industry. I learnt so much from him and he was an exemplary manager who was really invested in his team and his leadership was one that helped me in my own professional career. Great to see you spotlighted here, Andy Joannou 👏🏾
