Change can be difficult, but it is a crucial component of personal development. Every stage of life introduces fresh opportunities and obstacles, whether they involve career changes, relationship dynamics, or evolving personal goals and beliefs. Adapting to change demands resilience and adaptability. It often involves leaving our comfort zones and facing the unknown. Embracing change allows us to reinvent ourselves, acquire new skills, and discover a renewed sense of purpose. I am excited about the upcoming chapter in my career.

How many people will continue in the same job for another 20 years? Many people who reach midlife and want a change, maybe boredom has kicked in, their salary expectations have dropped, their role no longer exists or they no longer find it fulfilling. Continuous learning makes you more employable and keeps your mind more resistant to long-term diseases like dementia (which studies have shown*). Finally, I am excited to announce that I embarked today on a new chapter in my career! After 10 years in the public cloud vendors space, I've crossed over to the other side of digital transformation! Today was my very first day at Polpharma as Digital Lead for Industrial Operations in the Manufacturing Excellence division! Why? Because after years of focusing on the commercial side of digital transformation in industry, I'm eager to broaden my skill set and take on a more strategic role. This new challenge will push me out of my comfort zone but also presents the most significant opportunities for growth in Digitalization and Change Management within complex enterprise structures.  Because every move, every look, every decision we make, or don't make, is a change. We live in an environment of constant change, and it is a change that we fear the most. Because some changes are small, usual, expected, and we know their outcomes. Others are unexpected, uncertain, and we try to avoid them. But what if they're inevitable? Then it's best to manage them. In every aspect. I'm joining a Team tasked with managing one of the biggest changes in the Polpharma, as digital technology boldly enters the world of industrial operations. I spent a significant amount of time considering how I could contribute to a well-organized delivery team that doesn't have the typical sales-driven focus. I have a reputation for being hard-working, and perhaps I am, if thinking, striving for knowledge, exchange of views, teamwork, and ultimately achieving a goal are equivalent to work, because that's what I do most often. But if work is interpreted as a rigidly defined action at a specific time according to a rigid rule, then I'm more of a slacker. This is not transformation change for me, but just another project. Well, I'm not hiding it, I'm curious whether I won't disappoint my new colleagues with this approach, but no doubt that an interesting adventure awaits us soon! What does it mean to be a star?    What an incredible honour it was to celebrate our quarterly Discovery Limited Star Awards winners recently! Four times a year, we come together to recognise exceptional employees who embody Discovery’s core purpose and values in everything they do. Our Discovery Star Awards highlight individuals whose outstanding performance consistently shines through. More importantly this award anchors on peer recognition as each winner was nominated by a colleague, which makes this award even more special in my view.   I had the privilege of hosting the Q3 Star Awards for Discovery Health. We celebrated 34 remarkable team members from our 5,500-strong workforce, each nominated for their unwavering dedication and passion. At the awards, we asked the winners to reflect on "what makes them a star, and what led them to getting this award?” Listening to their responses made a deep impression on me. At the end of the day I was left thinking about the traits common to all of the award winners. Five powerful traits stand out – traits which I think are reliable predictors of excellence. As a product manager and customer service specialist, I'm fortunate to have a role that combines two passions: building amazing products and helping customers succeed. Every day, I learn something new - whether it's a customer's pain point, an innovative solution, or a more effective way to communicate. I love that my role allows me to connect the dots between customer needs, product capabilities, and business goals. By listening to customers, I gain valuable insights that inform product decisions, and by working on products, I gain a deeper understanding of how to support customers more effectively. Learning every day in this role means: - Gaining a deeper understanding of customer needs and pain points - Staying up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies - Developing creative solutions to complex problems - Improving communication and collaboration skills - Enhancing product knowledge to provide expert support It's a thrill to know that each day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on customers and products. I'm grateful for this dynamic role that challenges me to be both a product expert and a customer advocate.

Ever struggle to connect the dots looking forward? I did too, but looking back... everything makes sense. For the longest time, I felt insecure about having different career backgrounds. But here’s what I learned: Analyzing drug safety reports sharpened my attention to detail.  Working as a technical support taught me problem-solving. Teaching English online honed my communication skills. Working in nurse intake strengthened my empathy. Project management refined my organization. All these roles shape who I am as a virtual assistant today. The skills I learned from my past show that wherever I go I can excel. That's what makes me, ME.  That’s my super power. We all bring unique skills to the table. Let’s celebrate our journeys! Remember:  Your unique path is your greatest asset. Embrace it. P.S. Take that job that others are afraid of, says Aditi Javeri Gokhale, strategic advisor at Northwestern Mutual. She says she's always gone after roles that most people have shied away from, which has led her to great places in her career. "I've never looked at titles and compensation. Four years in business—unbelievable! To mark the occasion, I splurged on (another) camera and dove right back into the mission: making radical, life-changing impacts across all systems. When I say radical, I mean making big moves that count. People often ask, "Can one person really make a difference?" They're right; I don’t do this alone, I never have. I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with passionate lived experience experts, practitioners, leaders, and organisations, all committed to empowering each other and reshaping systems—and the experiences of those who connect with them. This isn’t just about stories or numbers. It’s about giving people caught in the struggle a real shot at a better life. We're not just talking—we're taking action to build safer communities and unlock potential in those left behind. I want this collective legacy to bleed impact—a testament to a better world. As a young person, I doubted what was possible, but now, that drive fuels me. I want my sons to know the power of standing with those who stand alone. This one hits home. It blows my mind that what started as a dream — Wounds & Wisdom — is now a powerhouse training organisation and consultancy firm, shaking up multiple sectors. I look forward to my partnership with Stephane Shepherd at 16 Yards doing the same (and more). Huge thanks to everyone on this journey, for sharing their stories and knowledge.
