100% #Recyclable Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is popular among roasters thanks to its affordability and high barrier properties. LDPE is flexible, durable, lightweight, and can be easily reused and recycled (#4). What sets LDPE apart from traditional plastics is the ease and affordability with which it can be reused and recycled. The production of LDPE coffee bags uses less energy and raw materials, making it easier for coffee consumers to dispose of it correctly. In areas where compostability – especially industrial compostability – is not an option, LDPE provides a sustainable solution that may prevent coffee bags from ending up in landfills. Specialty coffee roasters who switch to LDPE packaging recognize it as a good way of maintaining the quality of the coffee. Furthermore, it demonstrates a tangible move towards more sustainable practices. . . . . . #specialtycoffee #specialitycoffee #coffeebag #coffeepackaging #packagingdesign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #coffeeroastery #roastedcoffee #coffeebeans #specialtycoffeeroaster #roastedcoffeebeans #coffeeexperience #kahve

A by-product of the sugarcane industry is bagasse, also referred to as sugarcane pulp. The fibrous material remains after the sugarcane plant's juice is extracted. Bagasse used to be often discarded or left to deteriorate. However, it is now utilised as a renewable resource for the manufacture of paper goods and as a kind of industrial fuel. Plates and clamshells, to mention a few eco-friendly food packaging options, are made from bagasse. #bagasse #naturalpulp #biodegradablepackaging #ecofriendlypackaging #sustainablepackaging #sustainablefuture #ecofriendlyproducts #foodpackaging #1SOURCE

Celon Monthly Market Spotlight - Food The food industry is a fast-paced environment and you need solutions that are flexible, reliable and right first time. Food packaging also comes under intense scrutiny as we all strive to reduce single use plastic and our packing waste in general, increasing the demand for green packaging. Eco-Friendly Shrink Bands are revolutionizing food marketing packaging by providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly option for brands looking to reduce their carbon footprint. 🌍 What are shrink bands?: Celon Bands are a secondary seal that goes over the primary closure, such as a metal or plastic cap. These shrink bands are made from cellulose and are contained in a preservative solution until application. Once applied, they give your package a tamper-resistant seal to help make your product secure. How to use: Celon Shrink Bands are different than PVC Shrink Bands because they are hand-applied. They require no machinery nor heat gun, yet still provide that tamper-resistant seal. Celon Bands are applied wet and shrink to the container naturally. Simply apply, and let it dry! Celon shrink bands are not only biodegradable, but they are also compostable, making them the perfect choice for companies looking to align with consumer demand for more sustainable packaging solutions. 🌱 Plus, they offer the same level of protection and security as traditional shrink bands, ensuring your products stay fresh and safe during transit and on the shelf. ✨ Learn more and request a quote here: https://hubs.la/Q02sjK9D0 #EcoFriendlyPackaging #SustainableSolutions #CelonShrinkBands #FoodMarketing #Packaging #FoodPackaging #CelonBands #Celon🌿

#FridayInsights: Why do we like #PET, aka the Beverage-Bottle-Rockstar? Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) is one of the most widely used and #recycled #plastics. Applications for recycled PET go far beyond the PET bottle as it is an extremely durable and versatile material. Applications include: * beverage bottles * food and non-food packaging * car parts * technical and textile fibres (garments, carpeting, bed linen) * insulation (construction) Don't worry, recycled PET is safe for use with food and is evaluated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) or the FDA. The main applications of non-food recycled PET grades are fibres for #textiles and #packaging. R-PET has many advantages, such as the ability to match colour to the desired application and product, it is lightweight and available in a range of IV (intrinsic viscosity) values and rigidity degrees. R-PET also has a good moisture barrier, very stable crystallisation and thermal and mechanical properties often comparable to virgin PET. 💪 Most importantly, it has a very high material #quality and can easily replace its virgin counterpart.
