We are thrilled to announce today our collaboration with Neya Systems and its parent company ARA to upgrade the CARLA simulator to Unreal Engine 5!! The long awaited upgrade is intended to support ARA's development of a Virtual Testbed for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Triage Challenge: https://lnkd.in/gx6_dty4. The upgrade promises to bring incredible improvements in graphics, modeling and performance to CARLA with the new Nanite and Lumen technologies, expanding the possibilities in simulation fidelity without performance penalties. Moreover Unreal Engine 5 opens up the possibility to use MetaHuman's in CARLA simulations, allowing hyper-realistic human characters to populate your virtual worlds - an excellent addition for robotics applications involving facial recognition technologies.
