I received a copy of the "dus spoke India Inc" report released by Give Grants and the Bridgespan Group earlier today. The report is a beautiful synopsis of how CSR has evolved in the last decade and, more importantly, it articulates a vision for the next ten years. The findings published in the report are truly exciting - India Inc has unlocked capital worth Rs 217K crores for CSR deployment in the last 10 years and we are expecting that this number will grow to almost Rs1 lakh crores per annum in the next 10 years. There is an increased focus on innovation, partnerships and using CSR funds to drive innovations and improve the effectiveness of state funding. CSR is now an integral part of strategy and a top of mind agenda for the Board. I have attached the report for those of you who want to have a look at it. The overall story is very heartening and is the direct outcome of a well framed law. At ZEE we have embedded many of these insights into our CSR strategy - using CSR funds to drive social innovations through our backyard goatery and poultry program in UP #AshaKiran; catalysing social innovation through our engagement with #SNEHA to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes in Maharashtra; working closely with #MagicBus to skill young women in all metros and some state capitals to create employability and many more! There are still some challenges that we need to address and to my mind solving the talent challenge is the next big one. How do we make working in the social sector a first choice for our best talent? Would love to get thoughts and ideas on this. #zee #dusspokeindiainc Give Grants, Sumit Tayal, atul satija, Swati Shahi The Bridgespan Group

Exploring the Impact of NPOs in India Did you know that there are over 3 million NPOs in India, each playing a vital role in uplifting communities and driving social change? These organizations are the backbone of social development, contributing immensely to the nation’s progress. Fascinatingly, over 2,20,000 NGOs are registered on the NGO Darpan portal, reflecting the immense scope and reach of this sector. The NPO sector employs around 19.2 million people, showcasing its significant role in creating employment opportunities. Moreover, NPOs contribute about 2% to India's GDP, underlining their economic importance. Civil Society Organizations collaborate with almost 25 million self-help groups, fostering livelihoods and empowering individuals across the country. #NPOsInIndia #SocialChange #CommunityEmpowerment #NGODarpan #EconomicImpact #CivilSociety #SocialDevelopment #EmploymentOpportunities #SustainableChange #Empowerment

When you work out of a village in Himachal Pradesh, every visit to Delhi is precious, both as a learning opportunity and to meet incredible people doing incredible work in and beyond the dev sector. After 8 days in Delhi and meeting and listening to people every day, I came back with 2 reflections. Sharing one here :) Protsahan India Foundation recently organized the first #HridayDialogues, to start conversations around the child protection ecosystem in India. Enakshi Ganguly gave the keynote address and later shared with a bunch of us ‘young bloods’ over lunch that “हम किसी चीज़ में घुसने से पहले, उसके बारे में आगे पीछे जो हुआ है, सब पता लगाते थे” (before entering any domain, we used to read and learn about everything that has happened around it, from the beginning) While that did make sense immediately, I couldn't help but feel guilt of often jumping to execution without giving enough time to understand the problem, and what people before me have tried and achieved. It was a reminder to acknowledge and learn from the giants, on whose shoulders we are standing today. Here’s to 2024, a year where I commit to diving deep into my chosen sector, and understanding what all is happening in the domains of #skilling for youth, #strengthening the agency of rural women, and #learning and development for us young bloods who have wholeheartedly jumped in a not-so-organised sector. It’s on us now :) This commitment translates to spending more time with grassroots organizations, engaging with young women, and learning from experienced practitioners. If you're someone with insights, questions, or connections to share, please reach out! Cheers to a year of meaningful connections and deep dives. #deeplearning #learninganddevelopment Preeti . Breaking Barriers: Empowering PwD in India's Workforce! Did you know? Out of India's vast population of 121 Cr, a staggering 2.68 Cr individuals are considered 'disabled', comprising 2.21% of the total populace. Despite these numbers, opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) remain disproportionately scarce. In rural areas, 49% of PwD are literate, while in urban areas, this figure rises to 67%. Yet, shockingly, 45% of disabled individuals are illiterate. Education levels vary, with 13% having secondary education and 5% being graduates or above. Here's the stark reality: India boasts almost 3 crore PwD, of which approximately 1.3 crore are employable. However, only a mere 34 lakh of them are currently employed. Even more disheartening, critical positions like IPS, RPF, DANIPS, and PONDIPS in CSE-2020, comprising 251 seats, have been exempted from PwBD reservation. Let's talk numbers: - Public sector companies employ just 0.54% of PwD in their total workforce. - Private sector Indian companies fare marginally better, with 0.28% of their workforce comprising PwD. - Multinational companies lag significantly, with a mere 0.05% PwD representation. Introducing Swiftwit's PwD Inclusion Initiative! At Swiftwit, we're committed to rewriting this narrative. Our upcoming launch aims to bridge the gap by providing meaningful opportunities for PwD across all sectors. With a focus on inclusivity and diversity, we envision a future where every individual, regardless of ability, has equal access to employment and growth opportunities.
