The Park Nuclear team was on the road this week, visiting Xcel Energy’s Monticello and Prairie Island sites. We had productive discussions on our cost-effective solutions for obsolescence, ensuring continued support for the reliable operation of these critical facilities. We're committed to helping our partners meet their challenges with innovative and efficient solutions. #ParkNuclear #XcelEnergy #NuclearPower #ObsolescenceSolutions #CleanEnergy

Nuclear power is safe. Nuclear power is reliable. Nuclear power is sustainable.
Our fleet of nuclear units are playing a major role in providing reliable power to keep Ontario cool through these high temperatures. Amid the heat and humidity, and when electricity demand increases, we maintain our reliability with units running at high power while keeping our Life Extension Program on track to deliver emission-free electricity to 2064 and beyond. If you #KnowNuclear, you'll #LoveNuclear.

Interesting short piece from the NIA outlining the key contribution that Nuclear capability will play in providing UK energy independence while supporting us on the path to a greener future. SMR clearly playing a key role in the nuclear portfolio here, providing a faster route to available, dependable power for our future commercial and domestic demands. MHP considers that best in class industry solutions supporting core industrial processes such as Model Based Systems Engineering and Advanced Configuration for the Design and Build phases with Building Information Management capability (BIM) for in-service plants would form the core of a successful scalable, repeatable SMR manufacturing approach. #WeManufactureWeConsult #DigitalTransformation #ManufacturingExcellence #Innovation #Automation
'Hinkley and Sizewell are absolutely essential. They are going to be cornerstones of our energy security and our net zero journey, not just in the near future, but for the rest of the century, a well as creating the green jobs that we need.' 🎙 Nuclear Industry Association's Director of Policy and External Affairs, Lincoln Hill spoke to Lord Ed Vaizey on Times Radio about the vital role nuclear, both large-scale and SMRs, will play alongside renewables in driving down gas and energy bills and driving up clean energy and green jobs. 🎧 Listen back ⏩ https://lnkd.in/eEJRTt9R (from 35 mins) #nuclear #netzeroneedsnuclear

Some how I don’t agree for M = medium. Some use it like that but logically a … Design is always upscaled for principal of “ scale of operation “ to achieve economics. So I prefer not to use m for modular which is different concept all together. So Better definition of SMR is … Small modular reactors (SMRs) are advanced nuclear reactors that have a power capacity of up to 300 MW(e) per unit, which is about one-third of the generating capacity of traditional nuclear power reactors. SMRs, which can produce a large amount of low-carbon electricity, are: Small – physically a fraction of the size of a conventional nuclear power reactor. Modular – making it possible for systems and components to be factory-assembled and transported as a unit to a location for installation. Reactors – harnessing nuclear fission to generate heat to produce energy. https://lnkd.in/dnqHxygm
X-energy’s Xe-100 advanced small modular reactor (SMR) has completed the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission – Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire’s pre-licensing Vendor Design Review with no fundamental barriers to its licensing 👉 https://lnkd.in/enPEygT2 #NEI #nuclearenergy #nuclearpower #smr #licensing #lowcarbonenergy

Lifetime Achievement Award at Marquis Who's Who,Honored by IAOTP as Top Power Plant Consultant of the Year for 2020, Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree 2022 by IAOTP,Fellow American Biographical Institute
- FIRST ever U.S. nuclear plant to come back online after decommissioning began.! - The repowering plan must be approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. - In the coming years, regulators are expected to require major refurbishment, rebuilding and replacement of existing equipment. GREAT Federal and State Financial Support (seems to be a PRUDENT decision) - The U.S. Department of Energy approved a $1.52 billion loan to Holtec International. - The Michigan state put $300 million toward the Palisades restart. HISTORY Palisades*** Nuclear Plant STARTED in 1971, was SHUT DOWN in 2022, with the present aim of REstarting the 800 MWe reactor and extending its operation until at least 2051. (Potentially, a whopping 80 years.!) *** Looking at my Largest Privately held Power Plant DATABASE , suggest one of the RECORD Shorter Construction Duration- Compared to Today's Nuclear Industry Experience.! [1] First Concrete was poured on March 4, 1967. [2] Reactor Vessel was Delivered to the Site on October 22, 1968. [3] First nuclear chain reaction occurred on May 24, 1971. [4] First commercial power generation took place on Dec. 31, 1971. TOTAL DURATION = [4] - [1] = < 5 years.! P.S: Significant progress seems to have been made by Holtec International with regard to REpowering Activities. #DATABASE(1970-2024)
Holtec International has made significant progress toward repowering the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Michigan, US, including workforce re-establishment, training program revitalization, system procurements, regulatory advancements, and funding arrangements, with the aim of restarting the 800 MWe reactor and extending its operation until at least 2051. Advocate for a globally competitive #AUSTRALIANFUSIONENERGYINDUSTRY with strategic communications expertise.
Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, and maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. You talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now see what is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fuel shortage is increasingly real,
US-based PSEG has notified the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of its intent to seek subsequent license renewals for the Salem and Hope Creek generating stations. If approved, the license renewals would extend the operation of Salem 1 and 2 from 2036 to 2056 and 2040 to 2060, respectively, and Hope Creek from 2046 to 2066. Today, Ontario Power Generation is set to formally announce the refurbishment of the Pickering 3,000 MW CANDU nuclear power plant. This is fantastic news as it will breathe new life into this amazing public asset and extend its life sustaining power generation for another 30 years. The following plot represents the recent refurbishment and operating schedule of the Darlington (DNGS) and Bruce (BNGS) nuclear generation facilities. Pickering, Darlington and Bruce were built between the 1960s to 1990s and will after refurbishments, last until to the 2050s to 2060s. That is 80 to 90 years of sustainable reliable power generation! Never forget that for every $1 CDN spent on CANDU technology, creates $1.4 of wealth within the Canadian economy as the supply chain is entirely Canadian. #canadianenergy #powergeneration #nuclear #nuclearenergy #nuclearjobs #nuclearpower #netzero #gridstability #gridresilience #gridmodernization #gridmodernization
