Your top five core motivations can help you make decisions when you reach the cliff of “I’ve got to either accept it, change it, or leave.” ✅YES, accept it | Choices that leverage your top five motivations are a definite yes. ❌NO, leave it | Choices that fall into your bottom 11 motivations are usually a no — these choices are draining and go against your grain. They aren’t sustainable in the long term. 🧇MAYBE, change it | But a choice that leverages a combination of one or more top motivations and some of your middle 11 can be improved! This is a change-it situation where you want to adjust the situation to better rely on your more favored motivations. Try it on a decision in your own life. And then imagine how this framework could help the students on your campus as they make choices about majors, internships, careers, and campus engagement.
