Harsh Reality on Why Recruiters Aren’t Getting Back to You Recruiters are busy. They get 1,000s of applications every day. If you’re waiting for them to get back, you’re wasting time. You need to keep moving—apply for more roles. This is why 40,000 students trust me to help them land grad jobs. I’ve spent years interviewing HR pros and successful candidates. He thought finance wasn’t for him. I told him, “They’re looking for exactly people like you.” We used my LinkedIn tools to find recruiters. Sent 1,000 messages. Secured 16 calls. One led to an internship offer at £35k. Want replies from recruiters? Here’s what not to send: “Hello X, My name is Y, I’m interested in Z role. Based on my experience, I think I’d be a great fit. Can we discuss further?” It’s too generic. Use This Instead: “I saw X is hiring, so I researched and found out [something unique]. I’m curious about your team’s growth and would love to know more. Could we set up a quick chat?” After they reply, set a time, and chat about the company. At the end, ask if they see a potential fit based on your profile. Want my templates? #Hiring for 𝗦𝗗𝗘 Intern . Whenever we see this statement, we immediately start applying without reading the 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻(𝗝𝗗). Most of us don't even tailor our resume to match the job requirements. We simply hit "𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆" using the same resume we've used for other jobs. Even most of us don't know 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 ?📄 yet we often blame 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 for not getting shortlisted. 📍It's important to understand that most of the time, recruiters don't personally review your resume❌—software does. During my internship, my responsibilities included: Talent Acquisition: • Conducted comprehensive job analyses to create detailed job descriptions and specifications. • Utilized various recruitment channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks, to source candidates. • Screened resumes and applications to identify the most suitable candidates for open positions.
