As today is World International Charity Day, we honor the vital role of philanthropy in alleviating the worst effects of humanitarian crises. The UN recognizes that charity builds resilient societies, yet today, nearly half of the global population lives in poverty. Philanthropy is good, and we proudly contribute, but to make a lasting difference, we need more than charity—we need systemic change. The trillions required to end poverty are concentrated in the hands of a few. At Millionaires for Humanity, we advocate for a wealth tax on the world’s richest, including ourselves.
