🌟 Happy National Senior Citizens Day! 🌟 Today, we honor and celebrate the wisdom, strength, and contributions of our seniors! At Partnership for Families, Children and Adults, we are committed to ensuring that older adults receive the care, respect, and dignity they deserve through our Elder Support Services Programs. Our programs provide vital support, including: • Home Care Program: Helping individuals over 60 and adults with disabilities remain self-sufficient by assisting with daily tasks like light housework, grocery shopping, and accompaniment to medical appointments. • Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP): Empowering volunteers aged 55+ to find meaningful opportunities to give back in ways that matter most to them. • Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program: Advocating for seniors in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, preventing elder abuse, and ensuring their needs are properly attended to. We’re proud to be a resource for seniors, promoting independence and preserving dignity. Join us in celebrating the amazing seniors in our lives today and every day!

We have published our Safer pathways through childhood framework Action Plan for 2024-25, which sets the direction of our child death prevention functions. All children, irrespective of who they are, the family into which they were born and the community in which they live, should have the same opportunities to reach their full potential, including access to quality healthcare, education, and other social services. Child death prevention efforts are focused on influencing factors in a child’s social networks and local community, as well as the policies, systems, and institutions that impact on children’s safety, education, health, and wellbeing. This year we will continue to progress a range of initiatives aimed at generating new findings in relation to preventable child deaths in Queensland while commencing a range of new activities, including areas related to unregistered child deaths, trends in childhood suicide over time and the classification of Sudden Unexpected Deaths in infancy (SUDI).
