The Macher Job Fair is gaining attention, prompting me to reflect on how I came up with the idea of organizing this job fair. Last year, I participated in a networking event and connected with the organizer, who proposed a collaboration with us. So, we set up a Zoom meeting to discuss it. After he pitched his idea, I asked him questions about the benefits for us in this collaboration. Instead of answering my questions directly, he began mansplaining the overall benefits in a very disrespectful way. I was surprised by this behavior, feeling strongly that he would not have spoken in such a manner to a man. His chauvinistic attitude was clear. So, I told him I was unwilling to do any business with him if he could not conduct a conversation respectfully and hung up the call. Immediately afterward, I spoke with my worker, and we both said- let's organize an event ourselves. We have the perfect network to organize a job fair... That was when we began planning our first annual job fair, leading us to our second one now! So, in the end, a good thing did come out of this man's talking - he was my motivation for creating the Macher Job Fair 😅 Still, it was a surprise to realize that there are still men out there who don't understand that we live in a different era. #MacherJobFair #WomenInBusiness #Empowerment #NetworkingEvent #ProfessionalGrowth

Latin School of Chicago hosted a Diversity Job Fair in their building and invited 20 NAIS independent schools to recruit prospective employees. Buckets Over Bullying thinks it’s imperative to remind prospective NAIS employees that if they are choosing a career in the private school industry it is critical to be a person of the highest moral standards, integrity and have the genuine intent to protect all students. If student safety and well being is not your number one priority, then you should not be looking for a job in the NAIS private school industry. Sadly, the @naisnetwork does not tout integrity, honesty and a moral compass. Why? Because they definitely do not uphold these characteristics. In my opinion , the NAIS has a very deliberate and devious agenda that causes harm to many students and families and the @naisnetwork does not care. And, let me be clear, The Latin School of Chicago does not care about student safety. They don’t follow their own school policies. Their handbook claims it has “a zero tolerance policy for all forms of bullying” if that is the case, then why is my son Nate Bronstein dead? It is all about their image, and the money. Second chance opportunities are an important part of reentry, recovery, and reduces recidivism. Consider giving someone trying to better themselves a second chance!

I've been getting a lot of questions about the event we're putting on, so I wanted to answer some of the most common ones: ✨ Is this a job fair? Technically, no. This event is a conversational roundtable featuring young people and professionals alongside employers and leaders. It's a chance to share perspectives about each other and discuss how we can overcome generational obstacles as a community. ✨ This event is FREE! Originally, we considered a fee to cover costs, but I wanted to be fair and absorb the cost as an investment. ✨ This is NOT confrontational. This isn't about hearsay. We'll be using statistics and key indicators observed within our community to facilitate discussion. ✨ Who's participating? We'll have students from high schools and colleges across the Springfield-Branson metro area. This includes international students, Springfield-Branson natives, and those planning to leave or enter the workforce. ✨ The goal? To share perspectives and find common ground.
