Today, we had the privilege of demonstrating a healthcare-related quantum use case in #Bologna at the Ministers' Meeting on Science and Technology, happening under G7 ITALIA ⚛ 🎙 Our colleague, Krisztian Benyo, Ph.D. explained how quantum computers help save much needed time in drug discovery processes, but also how the technology will have an impact on the lives of everyone. Think smart cities, electricity grids optimization, development of new materials, satellite planning, environment protection, and so much more. I think we’ll see quantum computers sooner, companies like IBM, Google and Microsoft have developed working prototypes. By 2026, IBM plans to build a quantum computer with over 1,000 quibits. Google claims to have achieved ‘quantum supremacy’ demonstrating that their new QC can solve mathematical problems infinitely faster than an everyday device like their Chromebook and way faster than NASA super computers. Given the pace of the industry and determination of the minds working in this flied, I am sure we’ll see working mainframe quantum computer by 2030 latest. One question we should be asking is: When will we see personal quantum computers? Like a quantum laptop 🧐
