DON’T SETTLE FOR JUST ANY ATTORNEY My personal observation over the years is that the general public is weary of hiring attorneys. It’s hard to know who to hire. It’s hard to know who has a good reputation and is known for protecting their clients’ interests. I’ve worked with attorneys for many years, and honestly most of them are very good. They work very long hours and are usually under tremendous stress. If you have legal questions and aren’t sure what attorney to talk with, feel free to reach out to me. I’m happy to tell you what attorneys I’ve observed doing a great job. Things to keep in mind if you are already working with an attorney: - legal proceedings move slowly - there’s a lot of work and time that law firms put in that you probably don’t realize. - you don’t always want a bull dog attorney or an attorney that can’t get along with others. Being emotionally intelligent and keeping your cool is beneficial and can lead to faster reconciliations. - try to work things out amongst the parties if you can. Legal fees are expensive! - let them do their job. The general public has a different view of what is fair and what is a true legal claim vs. the reality of the law. - keep your emotions out of the conversation as much as possible. I know it’s hard but attorneys need facts and evidence they can make use of, and that’s how their minds work. Checking with your local bar association is another good idea. If an attorney has been disciplined for bad behavior, they will have a record of it. What if… There is no one perfect way to run your law firm? 🤔 Instead… There is only the way you commit to executing on with consistency over time. For example, some firms screen clients heavily on the front end, because they really hate slop for appointments and dread signing clients only to kick them. Others see that as inefficient and focus on high sign-up rates right up front. There are law firms that favor hiring lawyers rather than paralegals and weight in that direction. Then others prefer the legal support talent level. Whatever choices you make… Do so intentionally. ✅ The intention to scale with this system. The intention to support the team and outcome. The intention to see it through. And intentionally educating yourself on the options so you pick the one right for you. Maybe I’m off base… But who else sees success as a destination with many paths? #lawfirms #success
