It can take only 15 minutes of your time to save a life! Great story on BBC breakfast today looking at very fit professional footballers who suffered cardiac arrest and were lucky enough to have full medical support on hand to revive. Given so many people suffer cardiac arrest without medics close, it's great that the British Heart Foundation have put together a free online 15 minute interactive CPR training course. 1. If someone is unconscious and not breathing properly, call emergency services and ask someone close to find a defibrillator 2. Start CPR. If you’re by yourself, don’t leave the person alone to find a defibrillator, emergency services will bring one. Don't worry about hurting the person with chest compressions - they're already clinically dead! 3. Use a defibrillator. Follow the instructions on the defibrillator. This will give an electric shock to the heart.
