Most of the work we do is invisible. Sculptures have skeletons; they have guts. More interactivity, more behaviors = more guts. Early on in the design process, we need to figure out where the motors, the controllers, and the wires all go. How do we build something attractive that can support 3,000lb of dead (ie: purely aesthetic) weight? Stay tuned for behind the scenes content "under the hood" of a new kinetic piece we’re installing this fall. 👩🔧 #kineticsculpture #designstudio #mechanicaldesign

PT2 An oversized art installation refers to a large-scale or monumental work of art designed to dwarf or surround the viewer, creating an immersive or striking visual experience. These installations are typically much larger than human scale and can evoke a sense of awe, wonder, or disorientation. The sheer size of the work is often central to its impact, transforming how the audience engages with it and its surrounding space.Oversized art installations often emphasize scale to convey powerful messages, explore spatial dynamics, or challenge the viewer's perception of their environment. These works can dominate a gallery, public space, or outdoor environment and might use a wide range of materials such as metal, fabric, plastic, or organic materials. They can take various forms, from abstract sculptures to hyper-realistic objects that have been enlarged beyond normal proportions.By enlarging familiar or abstract objects, artists may invite viewers to rethink the ordinary or provoke a deeper emotional or intellectual response to the work. The oversized nature of the installation can also encourage physical movement around or through the piece, enhancing interaction with the art. #modernart #statue #contemporaryartist #installationart #layout #characterdesign #oversize #liveitup #mural #pasconstruit #macmtl #wip #postgraffiti #oversize #3d #illustrationart #architecture #interiordesign

The Dream Machine - 1372 #AIArt Prompt: Generate an image that embodies a tech-oriented setting with an eerie, scary ambiance. The image should have the aesthetic quality of an oil painting rendered in pastel colors, reminiscent of early 19th-century art styles. In this peculiar setting, imagine obsolete machines coming back to life, their rusty gears churning and grinding. Harsh shadows are cast by eerie green and yellow-toned light, emitting from unidentifiable sources, creating an ominous atmosphere. But, amid the eerie technology sits bursts of pastel colors, bringing an unsettling beauty to the scene.

Why do I apply the #Gestalt #Psychology principle of “proximity”, during the #visual #design #process ? Proximity explained: the human #eye #perceives #elements (i.e. lines, shapes, colors), that are close together as more related than elements that are farther apart. Proximity can provide a visual pathway to guide viewers eyes through the design. Objects that are closer together are perceived as connected in a unit or group.
