We find ourselves amidst a housing crisis exacerbated by local city councils yielding to NIMBY interests, failing to show the political courage needed to enact necessary change. This has perpetuated the greatest generational inequity in history. To address this, we must streamline bureaucratic processes, accelerate approvals, foster denser developments around transit hubs and major roads, and promote "missing middle" housing options. Simultaneously, we are witnessing a surge in criminal activity, from burglaries to car thefts and gun violence. Our discussions around transit fail to adequately tackle this pressing issue. Congestion worsens, distractions abound with populist but economically unsound proposals, while inefficiencies persist and taxes climb. Where is the visionary leadership for a brighter tomorrow? Drawing upon 24 years of immersion in Mississauga's community, I have actively contributed to its progress. From co-chairing the Mississauga Summit and leading the Mississauga Arts Council to engaging in grassroots campaigning and advocating for civic causes through Transit Alliance, my commitment to our city runs deep. Vote for better Mississauga! Vote for better future for you and your kids! ... https://lnkd.in/gSRcEKZT#briancrombie#bcrombie#briancrombieformayor#votebriancrombie
As a City of Mississauga Owner since 1976 I completely agree @BrianCrombie you are 💯correct and you are the ONLY #Mayoral#Candidate hitting key factors, having the right QUALIFICATIONS and the courage to speak the Truth!! #Transat has been a disaster for years! We have limited Community funding never collected from Builders! Not 1 of the 4 Councillor Candidates have done a good job! Ward 1 mess in #PortCredit and #Lakeview#Ward2#Clarkson#SouthDundas#Ward5#Malton#Industrial area and #Ward7#DowntownMississauga#Cooksville#Erindale do we have anything special other than Concrete jungle construction? We have a massive traffic disaster, high taxes, inability to enjoy our homes because of itchy fingers to approve more high density. What do Tourist’s come to see, anything special? I love my City, Brian’s statements are accurate, it break's my heart ♥️ to see #Mississauga transportation mess, we need to raise Infrastructure systems. The City of Mississauga needs "a progressive Intelligent Mayor who understands the problems" Canada already lags behind other countries, Western Europe erects light, airy bridges for decades yet we have heavy concrete slabs and massive interruption in our daily lives - Countdown OMG the Port Credit River Bridge / QEW is the perfect example of excessive costs and an absolute disaster!!
